Re: Join the Army Against Alcohol - February 2017
Morning.............weather report from NE of England crisp and bright and cold, rather nice tbh.
I've got a new friend on FB......nothing exciting about that.......but this young man's an ex-boyfriend of Jenny.........this young man,Joe, aged 30 celebrated 18 months of sobriety yesterday. They're always been a lot of gossip about his drinking and I know he got a warning at work to get his act together..........he didn't he was just started being careful.
Anyway just recently he wrote an article for a magazine.......... I wish I could share it but it shows real names and places ..........so I'll summarise it.
His Dad left home when Joe was 15, to carry on his drinking career as his mother had had a bellyful of his behaviour in front of him and sisters.......... over the next years he was sporadically heard of........and most of it not good. It'll be 19 months ago that Joe saw his Dad for the first time in over 10 years...........begging on the streets of town. Joe sat beside him they talked and talked, promises were made about him seeing his grandchildren..........you know when he'd got himself together again..............3 weeks later Joe's Dad was dead at 54.
And Joe gave up drinking. In that time he's become a father again and taken up potholing and he looks well, very well.Last edited by JackieClaire; February 26, 2017, 05:18 AM.It could be worse, I could be filing.

Just a quickie as its nearly Homeland
He's a lovely lad. I was sort of upset when him and Jenny split up, but they were only 16/17 ish. Its lovely that they've stayed friends all these years and she's still very close to his sister.
I made a proper rice pudding today, haven't made one in centuries.........its a bit dense......any one want a sliceIt could be worse, I could be filing.

Morning JC, she is a joy except when she occasionally needs to be put on the naughty step. Picking up the basics of training quickly and back to the vet for second vaccinations today so looking forward to being able to introduce her to the beach and the forest soon.Ethanol is a toxic chemical, why would I drink it?
