Evening,

Lovely morning at work...........met one of my all time heroes from AA today. Just celebrated 40 years sober. Heard him do a share about the back end of 2008.......and although I can't remember much of it ( I was scared stupid of any one with more than a week sober then)........his enthusiasm and happiness has stayed with me all these years............I remember thinking I want some of that...........had a good old natter with him and a big hug...........:huggers:

Although this new place is very much based on the 12 steps, I get to talk to many of the AAers,NAers etc.........when I tell them I tried AA and it wasn't the best fit for me and I now use an on-line forum.............to a man or a woman they've said...........whatever it takes............ I know there's bound to be a few that will turn their noses up but I haven't met them yet.

40 years,isnt that amazing - he must have started young.
I know a guy whos sober since 21. He was there through so many sessions and all our wedding.. Obviously I never appreciated it at the time, what he was going through.

Had tooth extracted yesterday in the end. Had planned to do it under sedation cos Im a wuss, but dentist convinced me to go for it. She prescribed a ridiculous cocktail of painkillers, including the codeine ones you hear people getting addicted to.. course chats here with Starty was ringing through my head.. pain gone now though.

Just a quick hello as I keep forgetting to check in here! All ok here (except no snow so no skiing!). 6 weeks dry tomorrow...time seems to be flying by this time!

Mers, he's well into his 70s now so it must have been his 30's. Still inspiring even the young 'uns.

Sorry about the tooth, my dentist persuaded me to have a wee filling without any numbing...........I made him promise under the pain of death that it wouldn't hurt.........and it didn't. TBH I'm not doing it like that again. I was sweating with fear.

Well done Tony. Sorry about the snow, would swop this rain ☔️ any day, bucketing it down. Glad you survived dentist Mary. Don't mind anything they can numb me for but hate hate hate having them cleaned. Nearly finished attic, tackling old school books/folders now. Might be adventurous and tackle old bed linen next, in that sort of humour:yay:

Evening - with the start of Spring I decided out with the old - (literally) and in with the new.
Had a hydrotherapy session. - that's colonic irrigation.
Interesting to say the least. :egad:
