Re: One Step at a Time - May 2017
Techie – that must be very frustrating – keep hanging in there my friend and we’re all still there for you.
Liz – as Rusty said I also never tire of hearing about weddings or babies – this lovely positive stuff just lifts my day!!
On the topic of babies – I’ve just been granted the privilege of babysitting - the first time the grandbabe has been allowed out of their sight! I’m looking after her for a few hours tomorrow night when they may be unable to be contacted so we had a trial run last night (at my suggestion) while they went out for dinner locally. So far, so good! There's two ways of looking at the holes in your shoes

Re: One Step at a Time - May 2017
Good day!
No alcohol, no sleep aids, slept great & lost a lb. Hooray!
Plan was to go do my workout, then get ready & go for lab work. Rethinking as I am such a hard stick and don't want to sweat any more water out. Need to be hydrated. Besides I want my coffee! Can always do workout this afternoon or go for a walk and do the run/walk tomorrow.
Techie, stay positive, keep busy so the days go fast.
Wishing everyone a wonderful day!

Hello....
Mr. G :heartbeat: Congratulations on getting through your course of study and working at the same time! That takes commitment!!
I sometimes forget that people from all over the world lurk and post here and maybe they don't know what "G-String" is in America. A G-String refers to very small piece of cloth covering a man's um....manhood...fastened only by strings. There was an old, old movie character named Tarzan in the 60s...and he was this buff young guy who used to swing through the jungle on ropes made of reeds....wearing only a G-String. He was a heartthrob for many women. A G-string is usually what male dancers wear in the strip clubs here in the US. Haha! Just thought I would clarify that fact. I frequently flirt...well more than frequently...and G-String is one of my terms of affection for him as I envision Mr. G as this fit, muscled man.:happy2:

Yes techie, we are herefor you:heartbeat:
Rusty, thanks for your insight on the journal. I too have a journal and it is completely empty. I thoroughly enjoyed your g string description :congratulatory:
Glassie, how exciting you get to watch the little one! Hubby and I have signed up for a grandparent class at the hospital where Erin will deliver. Erin suggested it. I guess babies are different then they were 30 years ago? Lol, hubby and I happily signed up, we love that kinda stuff and maybe we can learn something new!
AG, I know, your husband is away. How are you doing? I love my hubby more than life, but sometimes a little time alone is good, I think.
I know he's gone for a bunch of weeks. I hope your managing ok.
Heavy rain and flooding here today. A good day to be inside working. Tomorrow hubby and I are going to Pennsylvania to visit his cousins. A bunch of his cousins from jersey are coming too. I am hoping for a fun time with a bunch of couples. Have not yet decided if were staying overnight or not. We had a lot of fun when we saw them all during Christmas vacation.
Waves to you all. Wishing us all a restful AF Friday night. Love you all

Re: One Step at a Time - May 2017
Rusty - now I have images of our friend clad only in a leopardskin loincloth. I’m going to have some very interesting dreams tonight! :sweet:
Liz you are going to be a wonderful grandmother. :baby: I did look into some grandparenting classes here but they didn't seem very useful. Hopefully yours will be a bit more sophisticated and interesting. I don’t think that babies have changed very much - you still put food in the top end and it comes out the bottom end and they like to be warm and comfortable but some practices have definitely changed. Apparently the best sleeping position is on their back now, which was considered the most dangerous when mine were little.
I must admit I'm a bit nervous about this babysitting gig tonight though. There's two ways of looking at the holes in your shoes

Oh glassie, you will be fine! I was going to ask if you're nervous about it. Will you tell us all about it? As a soon to be grandma, I dying to know. Truth be told I'm a bit nervous to care for baby Wilson too.
Off to get ready to leave for PA. Hubby and I are going a little earlier than the rest. There is a Cabelas close by and it's one of hubby's favorite places. I will indulge him.
Happy AF Saturday!

Re: One Step at a Time - May 2017
Good Morning, Everyone!!!
Ah, the leopard loin cloth on Tarzan...HAHAHAH!!!! Glassie, you will be just fine babysitting your granddaughter. I am sure you are a pro. My niece's baby is now 8 months old and when she told my sister there were grandparenting classes she could go to, my sister just laughed. My sister has had 3 kids and I think she knows what she's doing. Loved the image of food going in the top end and coming out the bottom end. Hahahah! One male friend of mine told me that when his son was born, the biggest challenge was managing his bodily functions. :-)
@TMH-I am so glad you are back! You are always so positive and full of energy!
Liz-you will be a fantastic grandma! You have a FABULOUS job with your three kids and I am sure all your early motherhood nurturing skills will come right back to you. Safe trip to PA
A shoutout to NE and Pauly....where are you guys?
Nursie-Congratulations on 6 months AF!!:welldone:
Wildflowers...I saw on another thread that you are now 2 months + AF!:yay: Congratulations!!!
The sun has FINALLY come out and I hope to take a walk today in between chores, errands, etc.
Happy Saturday, everyone!

Re: One Step at a Time - May 2017
YAY - the babysitting was a success. She is such a little angel. She woke up twice but each time she let me pat her and sing her back to sleep.
On a more serious note though, some of you know I work in child safety, and I really wondered tonight how foster parents are able to take in infants and work out how to comfort them. It's just heartbreaking.Last edited by Glass Half Empty; May 6, 2017, 08:52 AM.There's two ways of looking at the holes in your shoes

Reading through your lovely thread this morning and I wanted to say CONGRATULATIONS to NE! (I had no idea the origin of your name until you just spelled it out...)
Also, welcome back, TMH. Hope all is well and I'm glad to see you.
Hi to all you steppers. I've never seen such a thorough description of a G String before. heh.
Happy Weekend.
