Quick check in before bed. Hope you all enjoyed your Friday. Pauly, I would love some of that 55degree weather here. It's been hit for the ast few days.
AG, glassie, as usual, hit the nail right on the head, IMHO. We all struggle at times and maybe always will. It's how much you want to quit, that's the motivating factor at for me. The time has to be now. I worry about the effects al has on my body and brain. I want to be here for my family. We are here to support you anyway we can.

Re: One Step at a Time - May 2017
Hi guys, so glad to be home! Stayed at stepdaughter's house in MN and you know what they say about company & fish. Was a little too long. What a busy household. Granddaughters, ages 4 & 6 never stop talking. Juggling their school schedules and activities, well I'm still tired. 2 nights before we left we ended up helping out as "dad" was in a meeting downtown Mpls, stepped off a curb and popped his knee. Mom had to work, dh took him to Urgent Care and I babysat. When we got home I got online to a local restaurant they like and bought a gift certificate to be sent to them, told her to take the gimp.
Now as to last night. Friday. :hungover: ugh. Not moving too swiftly this morning. Dressed to go workout and thinking don't care if it's weekend or not, I am not drinking tonite. Then I look at calendar & see we are invited to a cocktail party to friends we golf with a lot who are having people over before they go back up north for summer.
AG, agree with everyone. Keep trying and I will too. Had physical yesterday and told my dr. I drink and let's look at blood test results. Went to lab first part of May. My numbers were good, thank God. Fell mid range. Still, I know not doing me any good. Discussed friend who just died, and he agreed about having to move. Says he tells patients to choose friends who are active esp. down here where most of us are retired. Do things you love such as play bridge, etc. but include regular exercise.
Speaking of....time to hop on bike, go lift weights and run/walk! Have a great Saturday!
Pauly, read your thread. Good for you knowing that will help you.The pain of discipline is less than the pain of regret.

Hey guys!
TMH, glad you're back home safely. You've got quite a busy schedule.
AG, glad you're back on board. What do your boys think about your drinking?
Nora, how's the room makeover coming along?
Pauly, my sister and her family flew to Las Vegas tonight for vacation. They are renting a house boat on Lake Powell and taking on a few sights before. Well deserved as he was without a job for 7 months last year.
Rusty, glassie, techie How's it going by you guys?
Wishing us all a restful AF night.

Re: One Step at a Time - May 2017
Hello everyone. I know that I haven’t been around much lately. I am sorry that I haven’t been offering more support. It has been hard to connect for more than a quick flyby. I know that some have been struggling and I haven’t been of any help. Anyway, does no good to keep apologizing so instead I will make more of an effort.
But, with that being said.......I doubt I'm going to make it back here tonight. Catch you all tomorrow. :heartbeat:"Only I can change my life. No one can do it for me.".....Carol Burnett

Nora - No need to apologise, honey - as long as you're doing OK That's all that matters.
Well my weekend didn't go quite as planned. Babysitting was cancelled on Friday night because the little one caught a cold so her parents didn't go out.
And I think I've broken my hand. This is a bit embarrassing but I came out of the bathroom at 3am, turned the lights off, turned left as I always do and walked straight into the wall. Because apparently my new apartment isn't the same layout as the house I've lived in for the last 8 years and someone put a wall where my bed used to be. LOL.
Oh - and the cat threw up on the carpet again (twice), after I spent $100 getting it cleaned last week
YAY - and now it's Monday!Last edited by Glass Half Empty; May 21, 2017, 05:04 AM.There's two ways of looking at the holes in your shoes
