I wont have to sneak a few bottles of wine into shopping I dont really need.
Im not watching the clock until it strikes wine o'clock and arranging the day around it.
My head is not full of all of that shit.

I have been reading about the dreadful fire in the tower block in London. Hundreds have probably died. I used to live in the low rise flats next to this tower and know this area very well.

Life is short. Live it well and be kind.

Well here we are!!! Tony empty yer message box - couldn't reply to your pm - well as you know when I replied to you earlier we had a wee collision - van rear ended us - sent us flying - bike drivable but a bit of a mess - Joe has 3 broken bones in his foot - but except for a bruised shoulder and damaged leathers I'm as good as new - worst part was that I missed tony's messages and was heading for A&E when I saw them - all's well that ends well anyhows!! So what happened here all day???

Jesus Molls !!!! Hope you are ok ?
( and the lully bike ) :egad: Joe will be very upset about that - more than his foot !!!

Hi Gang [MENTION=8529]mollyka[/MENTION] - Hope you're safely on your way home and Joe's foot is not too painful - I've tidied up the inbox - you don't know it's full until someone gives you the "heads-up" on here! - As a matter of fact, you did drive straight past us yesterday (I assume, from where you went to A&E that you were still on the bike at the time - cos otherwise they'd have sent you the other way to hospital) Anyway, all good thoughts for a speedy recovery...get Joe back on that boat!

Glad it was not more serious Molly, shame as you seemed to be having a wonderful holiday but such is life. Got here safely and just had a lovely lunch sitting outside, bliss. Meant to be nice in Ireland these few days so don't be too jealous. Helping herself clean and pack up apartment as they are moving to a new one in September. Going to the baths on Friday so looking forward to that.

Wow. That is seriously crazy stuff. I don't think i've seen that before. Our fire codes are insane here and all alarms are rigged to each other in highrises and by law there are sprinkler systems in the halls. So sorry if anyone here lost a loved one or is worried.

Something went seriously wrong in this block of flats. It was built a long time ago ( I was a child when this whole estate was built in the 1970's) and it was refurbished during the 80's and then again later still.

I remember when my mother and I were housed in that estate and I was happy not to be in the tower block as living in the sky felt very alien to a country lass like me.

Even our second storey flat felt very alien and vulnerable tbh.

I nearly died in a fire as a child (which was set by an arsonist) so I have never purchased a house i could not safely escape in a fire.

Every time I see death by fire I experience extreme emotions.

I really loved my 8th floor apt and the view of one of the best parts of Niagara in Ontario, vineyards and a canal with huge boats, 1600sqft huge apt. But I did see fires in near by building but they were contained to units and not like this. Living in a 2 floor house at the moment and the only thing that scares me is the electrical as it hasn't been updated since the 50's. In Canada we use 115-120 volt and I'm pulling way to many amps off of one circuit. Last time I was here I changed some switches because well they would spark when I flipped them. I have since changed some of the electrical because well it freaks me out. I have a fire extinguisher at my door and 2 ways out. My last house I had completely automated with sensors for humidity and occupancy, fire, security. Seriously crazy stuff. This house will take forever to upgrade.





Safe and secure. Was years ago but in the first photo you would not notice there is a major canal and a super high rise bridge to get over them. As you can see I like plants

Had a lully phone call with our Jenny. She's really enjoying her wee bit of teachering (I don't think that's a word but it is now)........trouble is she goes pink every time someone calls her Miss.

Actually got a sit outside listening to the cricket, reading my book and scratching Bess's ears. Temps up to just under 30C (86F)..........nice.

Printed name tags for my dog. One of the hardest thing to do is name a dog. Sadie is what I chose. Took some time an S is strong and strong A and two syllables. Designed and printed all set up. 3 weeks legally I have to wait but I think the breeder wants me to take her first.
[MENTION=8529]mollyka[/MENTION] Its really only audited once in a while. The fact this building burned and so many people have died and more to come. It was upgraded a decade ago to look nice but not function nice. Seriously something went wrong. I will stay away from conjecture and try to remain calm. Toronto is a nice city. And living outside it is even better. Ontario is a beautiful place.
