Good morning ladies.
Ethanol is a toxic chemical, why would I drink it?

....kinda puts it into perspective for me.

In other news I spent nearly 3 hours updating my CV and a cover letter to apply for a new job yesterday, hope they have the decency to at least acknowledge receipt, which doesn't often happen in my prior experience.

Good morning Troopers!!

What a great thing to read first thing in the morning. Great job, KTAB!! Fabulous to read of your progress. Doesn't it feel wonderful to no longer carry the weight of alcohol around with you. It's just so liberating!!

Molly, I guess you must be poorly if you have to take antibiotics. Hope you feel better soon.

Just had to drop by to say Happy Birthday to Mr. JC. A quick glance back tells me that they are on holidays but I'm sure Jackie will read back over the thread when she gets back.

Hope all is well with the rest of the Army. Wishing you all a splendid day!!!

Evening.. damp and gloomy out there.
Got an online grocery shop delivery.. it's just heaven! Made the kids race each other to put away 20 things each.. job done. That's the highlight of my day now.

Happy birthday Mr JC. And great to see you Stirly!

Molly, fingers crossed the antibiotics shift it. Remember the horror being told that you MUST NOT drink on antibiotics, then drinking anyway...

Good for you Tabbers. Don't think I'd know where to start doing that exercise. Are they advertising or are you just applying on spec? Best of luck!!
Speaking of jobs, when is '4 years sober' satz123 home??

:sohappy: Tabs, congratulations on your 6 months. Hope you know what an inspiration you are and how valued you are here. As a serial relapser it is people like you who make me think its possible. Bottom line is I don't think I wanted it enough before now. Also I hate being different and not fitting in (repercussion of disfunctional childhood). Doing grand at the moment but did not fess up to Doctor, will see what the results are like, have to wait a week or ten days. Watched the rest of them downing wine last weekend and no craving or feeling sorry for myself. That was a first! Hubby away this week so have not even thought of it but know I can't be complacent. Reading, checking in every day and trying to fit in a short meditation and my exercise of course. Working full time does not leave me with much spare time. Only managed half an episode of Delegated Survivor last night before I fell asleep.

Cross posted there Mary. Loved internet shopping when my 2 were younger, rarely do it now but it was a life saver. Hope Molly that you are feeling better. Don't give up on the job front Tabs, I went back after 20 years so there is hope.

Hi Mary, I was just browsing and saw it advertised, the job would fit like a slipper so I applied and see where it takes me, at least to an interview I hope.

Thanks Rusty, thats a lovely thing to say. One thing I have learned as I get older is never say never, I have about several things in my life and been proven wrong time and time again, I am in the process of adding living a sober life to that list. I guess what is different this time around is that I actually don't want to drink, I don't see it as depriving myself of something but giving myself a gift and feeling I am worth it. Sounds simple I know but it isn't, thats why so many of us fail but unless we get to the place of acceptance and gratitude deep inside us and work at it then it will only end one way, at least that has been my personal experience on oh soooo many occasions over the past decade or more since I realised I have a problem with AL.

Thanks Molly dear, happy? Yes with a capital H. I know it is a cliche but my life is so much better after only six months but a lot of that is down to hard work and for that I do pat myself on the back. It is a work in progress.
