Re: One Step at a Time - June 2017
Lizz, I am so very sorry. My father had a similar condition, but he recognized me. You have a lot to handle right now so give half of your worries to us. We can be part of your support group. Drinking will not make it any better, but worse for you and the rest of the family won't like it either. Stay strong.
Rusty, delighted you can get relief from gabapentin, I have some but I get blurred vision. I do take one at night though.
Thunderstorms here again last night so Peggy had me up and down. She's sleeping right now, of course.
Nora, too funny on your reading. I'm reading British East Africa and Lord Delamere. I don't know if any of you watched Flame Trees of Thika on PBS? It inspired me to read her other books. Not watching TV since December now and other than pressure from Vivian to hook it up, I am happy. However, people who work and just want to turn off at the end of the day, it's still a good vehicle.
Mr. G., delighted you dropped by. Will check your thread re 3rd date.
Have a great day if you can.Enlightened by MWO

Liz - I have been thinking of you. I am so sorry that you are going thru this. It is such a very hard thing you are going through but to have it happen so quickly is even harder. Please, please reach out to one of us. I am here for you. No matter how much you want to numb this and have a drink, you know in your heart that it would be a mistake. Hang on tight."Only I can change my life. No one can do it for me.".....Carol Burnett

Rusty - I am glad that the gabapentin helps your neck. Painting is done. Mom has been sleeping in her own room and doing fine most nights. Now, we slowly bringing things back in. Simplifying our lives. It feels great.
Liz - please give us an update when you can.
Cowboy - thanks for the positive story about your FIL. :heartbeat:
I guess Mr V is still on vacation.
SK - I was so sorry to hear that things aren't great with you & your daughter/SIL. I hope that your pain eases up soon though. Your back had been doing so well.
We haven't heard from AG for quite awhile have we? Or did I just miss her post? Also, I would really like to hear how Techie is doing."Only I can change my life. No one can do it for me.".....Carol Burnett

Re: One Step at a Time - June 2017
Hi all! Sorry I've been out of touch online but you have been in my thoughts. Lots going on here I see.
I've been on a road trip along the coast of Oregon with my oldest son. Internet was spotty at best. Views and weather have been spectacular. I'll try to post something tomorrow. I'm at my in-laws new place in an assisted living facility. It is the first time I've noticed my MIL's forgetfulness. Ironically, tonight when we were talking she couldn't remember the term "assisted living" when showing me a picture of her mother at the end of her life. The mind is such a tricky thing.
LIZ!!!:hug::hug: I don't know what to say. I can only echo Nora and say Hold On Tight!! I am so sorry you are going through this. It must be so hard to see your father when he is not acting like himself. And then, there's Logan!! Wow!
A big wave to everyone else. More later! Onward - AG

Hey all,Liz thinking of you love,I just don't know what to say other than I'm sorry and I'm here for you,we all are AG,that sounds like a fun trip SK,I think Kells doc gave her gabapentin or pregabalin I always get them confused but holy shit that stuff is EXPENSIVE! $600 for a month, good she has insurance and I don't know if she's gonna try it anyways but jeez thats pricey,Rusty, are you planning any vacations for the summer? Nora, glad the house is all painted and nice,is it lonely without the kids? Or are you enjoying it? I've thought of downsizing but we pay for a 4 bedroom what 2 bedrooms are going for now, they've jacked up the prices of rentals cuz the stupid Raiders are coming here, meh, I don't see that being a moneymaker like they think, love you all and I hope we all have a great AF SundayI have too much shit to do today and tomorrow to drink:sohappy:
I'm taking care of the "tomorrow me"
Drinkin won't help a damn thing! Will only make me sick for DAYS and that ugly, spacey dumb feeling-no thanks!

Re: One Step at a Time - June 2017
Here again at the hospital with daddy. He is much better today. He recognizes us and says they are taking good care of him. He had a good night with the medication. He still lapses into strange questions. Sleeping right now. The plan is to do an EEG tomorrow and if that's negative they will send him home Tuesday. Mom will get a nurse to come in for a month or two? Medicare. Thanks for your thoughts prayers and support. Hubby is here with me and I thank God for him. Daddy has always loved him more than me I think sometimes. He listens to hubby.
I'll check back later if I can. I'm sorry I haven't read back, I just can't right now. Fighting off the tears at the moment.
