Re: Join the Army Against Alcohol-July 2017

JackieClaire, cute you noticed me talk about baseball caps. Its because I'm balding and only show if you are a loved one or I get ID'. A wierd piece of shame when apparently some women like it which I think is total BS. I will only talk to my doctor without a hat. I will not leave my house without a hat. I used to shave my head but it costs alot to maintain, like 2$ a day and time when I have more important things to deal with. So the hat it is. Also in the profession I am from you hit your head on some wierd things, metal, hot pipes, etc while crawling under 250,000$ huge dishwashing equipment so its kind of like protection as it really sucks when you get a cut and then sweat. Sometimes a hard hat does not fit lol.
rustop59 Yeah its a hell of a lot of work but today she was good and wanted to cuddle but I had places to be so I had to break that bonding moment.

hello,
Ah Molly, sorry to hear your having a hard time there, hopefully it can be fixed
Dont like false alarms either, but if he's anything like Mr M, good luck getting him to a doc JackieClaire, does you cousin have kids?? empyr3al, looking 10 years younger will be the icing on the cake! Is the tapering going to plan? Have you a day 1 in sight? The puppy will keep you busy anyway.

Re: Join the Army Against Alcohol-July 2017

IamMary, the naltrexone is helping. I get down to like 3 units and then instantly hit 26 units because a memory is haunting me (I am still in love). This has happened over the past 3 months as I try. So quit day as I'm at 3 standard units is in 3 days with the use of diazepam. I can't take it too fast without failure. Mindfulness can help. I actually lay down when I want a drink so I have been trying to bond with my puppy that has loads of energy unlike my other 2 1/2 year old dog that loves me implicitly. He will do whatever I do and always wants to be with me or stare out the window watching things. Sleep patterns with him are different and he really does not like the puppy though I thought he could help train it.

Re: Join the Army Against Alcohol-July 2017

Good morning everyone. Glad Joe is ok Molly. Having a nice relaxing morning googling and downloading books onto my kindle for my holiday. Between long flights and the hike I'll need plenty and probably won't have wifi over there. Downloaded a few last week but have half Graham Nortons one read already. At least with the high altitude and the hike it's a great deterrent for staying away from alcohol. Not your normal lying by the pool break plus our flight is at 6am, again a help. Will be a month af on Sunday so feel stronger going into it. Would like to be able to check in so fingers crossed I will be able at some stage. Better get up now and do a few things!!

Morning,
Well so much for a blooming early night............slept like crap and when I was asleep the dreams, deary me, the dreams. One of them was my mum and Aunt being bridesmaids at my Granny's wedding...........bizarre.

mollyka............glad is was a false alarm..........could have been indigestion.

rustop59...........ashamed to say the earlier the flight the better.........meant I'd put my bold face on and drink because I was on my holidays........seemed everyone else was doing too.

IamMary..........my cousin's got 4 children. She was a senior sister at a local hospital........obviously not in the family planning department. A 27 year old from her first marriage and 15,13,11 year olds from her second.

empyr3al..........my husband, brother (although he calls it a very high forehead) are basically bald. My Dad was. Lack of hair has never bothered me.
It could be worse, I could be filing.

JackieClaire ah some people get all the luck:happy2: (I like to blame the wrinkle free faces on avoiding a decade of sleepless nights!). It's a bit humid, doesn't help with sleep.
Eldest off for a week now :crybaby: trips without his mammy keep getting longer !!

Good morning lovelies, gorgeousnesses and all round jolly nice people.

Nice BBQ..........and I got away about 8ish. The son and heir turned up and gave me a lift home. Was going to log on but the London Para Athletics were on so just laid on the settee and watched that.

Morning ladies, the whole day ahead of me and not a thing planned or anything that 'must be done', nice. I think people can make their lives more hectic than they need be by always planning ahead, maybe making a to do list etc., it's nice to just be in the moment sometimes.
Ethanol is a toxic chemical, why would I drink it?

Good morning everyone. No Molly, early Wednesday morning as being at the airport at 4am. Working tomorrow and was meant to be working Tuesday but swapped it with one of the days I did last week. Half looking forward to it. You have hopalong, I have the marathon man, running up bloody mountains. Think I'm comparing my fitness level to his and finding myself lacking. It's not a race though and as long as I'm okay with the altitude I'll survive. It's 43km over 4 days camping. We spend 1 day in Lima after arriving and then 2 in Couscous to acclimatise and then we start the hike. We go on another tour after that on the Amazon. Will be very different to anything I have ever done before. Anyway enough about me. Hope you enjoy your cheesecake, Anon her hike and everyone else a lovely Sunday.

All ok here chez Satz : still job hunting - so most of the day is spent trawling through email alerts for jobs. Something will eventually turn up ....
Mother much the same - not sure what the outcome there will be - but for now it's ODAAT .......

Agree totally - even while doing somethnig today, there seems to be this 'what's next' mentality.
My SIL while on hols spent the WHOLE 14 days talking about next year's holiday - FFS !
Same last year ................
