Rusty, Pauly travelled to her hometown today for her brother's memorial service. Not sure how long she's staying down there though...Quitting and staying quit isn't easy, its learning a whole new way of thinking. It's accepting a new way of life, and not just accepting it, embracing it...
Worry about tomorrow, tomorrow. Just get through today. Tomorrow will look after itself when it becomes today, because today is all we have to think about.
Friendship is not about how many friends you have or who you've known the longest. It's about who walked into your life, said "I'm here for you", and proved it.

Re: One Step at a Time - July 2017
So glad it's Friday! Went I to work before 6 today. They are working on one of the garages and are sending tons of employees in every direction scurrying for the elusive parking spot! So darn frustrating. It's been like this since Wednesday. The parking lot is empty and no one is working there yetUniforms came in today too. I love the pants! They're so soft and comfy, the tops, not so much.
Dad had a better day today. I think on some level he might be aware of his rudeness after the fact. It's so hard to figure out, but I'm glad for a good day.
Rusty and cowboy, you had me laughing with the selfish and unselfish. Nora, you are so not selfish!thanks for the smile guys.
What's everybody doing this weekend? We are supposed to get rain. I will work on shower stuff tomorrow.
Wishing you all a great AF night!

paulywogg - I've been thinking of you all day. Sending you lots of love. (If you need a shoulder, call me - I'll be around. I love you friend)
Liz - we are having our annual block yard sale. I don't know how many families are going to participate. We usually get about 6-10 families that put stuff out. Hopefully, we'll get a lot of people coming by this time. We put it up on Craigslist.
I'm glad that your Dad had a better day today. It elps to
I don't think that I shared this story with you but if I did, I apologize. In a caretaker forum, a woman posted that she had received a call in the early morning hours from the facility where her Dad lives. Seems he was found naked in another resident's room. The other resident was in the process of getting naked when they were busted. :rotlf: It helps to have a sense of humor.
Rusty - you are a doll and thank you. Did you make it home after that long drive?? I hope you can have some time off this weekend. Do you listen to books or music while you drive? How do you deal with the long driving?
Mr V - GREAT JOB on pushing thru the cravings!!!! :yay:"Only I can change my life. No one can do it for me.".....Carol Burnett

SK - what's the latest with you now? You finished the prednisone. Are they hoping that would have helped the inflammation?
Glassie - you have been in my thoughts so much lately. I hope that means that you are doing fantastic and not that you are not well. I miss you. You, my dear, are a very special woman.
Techie - another one in my thoughts. :heartbeat:
Mr G - glad to hear that you & your lady love are doing well.
We haven't seen AG or TMH for a while. I hope they are doing well. Always wonderful to have people dropping in.....hint, hint. LOL I loved having NoSugar and Available here."Only I can change my life. No one can do it for me.".....Carol Burnett

I think it's hilarious that I'm sitting here talking so much. I don't talk that much to be honest. Hate to talk on the phone, etc. But, I guess since I have a captive audience here, I might as well go for it.
We are about set for the big yard sale.We put up the canopy in the front yard a little bit ago. I said that I hoped it didn't get stolen. Scott said that if somebody goes to the trouble to unstake it, collapse it and carry it off, they are welcome to it. LOL He won't be saying that if it actually happens. He is going to be in major pain for days now from all the work he has done.
He has been moving & lifting things. I hate that this is the way it is but it is. We have got to get rid of this stuff and if it doesn't sell, it's going to go to a charity. Boy, have we collected a lot of stuff over the last 40 years.

Re: One Step at a Time - July 2017
Hi Nora - thought I'd better put you out of your misery before you chew your own ear off!
I'm still sick but nothing serious. Just my annual inflammation that will settle down eventually. Hurts in the meantime though.
But I'm not contagious, so I just looked after the wee one for their parents to get some work done. OMG - she just gets more delightful every day.
I'm so proud of you for all the de-cluttering you're doing. It's not just a major task physically, but emotionally too. :heartbeat: You are just continually going from strength to strength these days.Last edited by Glass Half Empty; July 29, 2017, 02:43 AM.There's two ways of looking at the holes in your shoes

Rusty - the UNselfish comment really made me laugh. Lucky we all knew what you meant. I hope you got home safe after your drive.

Re: One Step at a Time - July 2017
Nora, I happen to love when you get into one of your chatty moods! I can relate to accumulating a lot of stuff, hubby is a bit of a "collector" to be nice about it. I try to declutter but it gets frustrating. Yesterday hubby's check engine light came on. He had it checked out and the mechanic said sell it. There is a crack in the transmission and it's leaking:egad: I cant even tell you the amount of crap that is in his SUV! Him and Mark were looking online last night for a newer SUV type vehicle. Cuz we need this big expense with a wedding to finish paying for in less than two months!!! Ugh, it's just money right?
Glassie, hope you feel better soon. I'm glad you got to watch your granddaughter. How old is she now? Logan started smiling and it just lights up my day!
Nora, what a perfect book, I'm going to see if I can get it. I will keep it here for Logan and as a reminder for me.
Rainy Saturday morning here. I would've loved to sit in the pool but it's not meant to be. I will go pick up my dress in a bit. I am anxious to see how it looks now.
Good luck with the sale today Nora, I hope you make a ton if money, but most if all get rid of a lot if stuff!

Well - the sale wasn't much of a success but we had a good day. Chatted with neighbors, sat out in the fresh air. Nice day. Mom came out and had a good time people watching but this pic is from the end. LOL She laughed when I showed her that picture. We made enough money to pay for the breakfast and lunch that I bought for us. :rotlf:"Only I can change my life. No one can do it for me.".....Carol Burnett
