Re: One Step at a Time - August 2017
Evenin'
Pauly, you are sounding really good.
Woke up this a.m. and stepped into ankle deep water. The toilet was running like it does when filling the tank and this had been going on for hours. Bedroom, bathroom, living room and kitchen soaked. It even seeped out to the patio and the fairy garden and the front door. Maintenance came and used a wet vac but the hardwood has been raised and my new carpet is affected. Carpet in bedroom (apartment complex's) is still squishy when I walk on it and he pulled the under carpet out the best he could. Things standing on the the floor in the pantry including dog kibble, etc. are ruined also. I had some books stacked on the floor too.
As Gilda used to say "it's always something".
Liz, forget last night and just move on. You can't undo anything. I hope you were feeling okay at the shower.
Off to go an eat something, squish, squish.
I have those giant industrial fans with names like tornado and hurricane running, they are so loud and if I can't sleep with them on they go off for the night.Enlightened by MWO

Oh my goodness SK! I can't believe it. What a huge mess and pain. You certainly don't need all the lifting & moving to get things out of the way, etc. always something"Only I can change my life. No one can do it for me.".....Carol Burnett

Oh SK that's awful, you poor thing. Hopefully you didn't have anything important damaged, books or photos etc. And at least you didn't slip when you walked on it.There's two ways of looking at the holes in your shoes
You can dig the ventilation... or you can sing the blues
I didn't come this far to only come this far.

Re: One Step at a Time - August 2017
Liz-please check in!! We are ALL worried about you!! Yes, you are OK! Like Pauly said, don't let this throw you into a "f&ck it...I'll just keep drinking since I've blown it already " move. I did that 100s of times!! :-("
Glassie-a nasal ENEMA???UGH! Yes, I was told they would help me since I fly a lot. Apparently, the nasal "lavage" is supposed to be very effective. UM....too messy for me...although...better the top end rather than the bottom if it's going to be an enema. UGH. Just the word is revolting! Feel better soon, sweetheart.
Nora-I can't believe you have a phone phobia. Don't you have to talk to people on the phone at work? LOL
SK-sorry about your plumbing problems. :-( Inconvenient and gross, for sure!Last edited by Rusty; August 5, 2017, 08:27 PM.

Re: One Step at a Time - August 2017
I love you guys! I'm ok. The shower was lovely. I didn't feel great but muddled through. I'll try to post pics later. Family is super concerned and my sisters are angry. Ellen wants to run an intervention again. I spoke to hubby this morning and was relieved by my openness. I am worried about the wedding and drinking. I told him to not let me drink, he agreed. Today is moms birthday and we are going out for lunch, ugh. Not looking forward to it. I'll check back later. Thank you for your support and encouragment

Re: One Step at a Time - August 2017
Liz:hug: was your family concerned and angry because your drinking got out of control and you said/did things that were inappropriate, or did you sneak drinks? As far as an intervention, what good would that do, other than to cause you more shame and sadness? You have been doing very well with your sobriety, so don't be discouraged. I am glad the shower was lovely, and I hope you were able to enjoy your Mom's birthday lunch today.
Nora-sorry to hear your vision is being affected by a floater. :-( Is it better today?
Hellos to everyone else. On the plane to Salt Lake City. Will be working in SLC all week.Last edited by Rusty; August 6, 2017, 03:46 PM.

Re: One Step at a Time - August 2017
Hello to all.......
Liz - You are loved and we are here for you.
Very teary today - keep thinking of Mario. My heart hurts.
We've had a very, very rough last night & day with Mom. Complete hallucinations. Have spent the majority of the day on edge just watching her. She is up in a second and if you turn your back, she walked off without her walker. Haven't been able to get into her world most of the day. Every once in a while, I can figure out what she's talking about.
Glassie - I hope you are feeling better.
Rusty - are you all settled in Utah for the week?
SK - how's the floor doing? How are you feeling?
Pauly - How was your day? I just got a new fitbit today. I'll have to see if I'm still connected with you.
Techie -love & hugs as always
Take care everyone."Only I can change my life. No one can do it for me.".....Carol Burnett

Re: One Step at a Time - August 2017
Nora:hug:So sorry your mom has been out of it the last couple of days...the aging process....so sad to see our parents get old. I, too, am very sad about Mario. I have no details other than someone on the Army Thread said he had been murdered. He was SO kind to me when I was drinking and struggling. RIP, Mario. Yes, I am here all week. :-)
SK-did you lose a lot of valuables in the flood? I HOPE NOT. :-(
Again, I am working...so back to it. I hope everyone is having a peaceful night.

Nora, I'm sorry about your mom. I know how that is. Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day!
Moms birthday lunch turned out to be lovely. It was nice that they were able to get out yesterday and today. I'm sure they are worn out.
Rusty, have a nice time in SLC.
Empyr, thank you caring. Support is such a big part of recovery.
Glassie, are you feeling any better yet?
SK, sorry about the water everywhere. Been there, done that. Hope things are back to normal soon.
I thank you all for being here for me. I'm headed to the blankie fort. I love you all,
