Re: Join the Army Against Alcohol-August 2017
Hey Matt - welcome to the Army! Always great support here. Pull up a chair and make yourself comfortable.
Troopers, I hate to pop in and out like this but I just got home from work about an hour ago and I have to get up at 5:45 - almost 10:45 now - and a girl needs her beauty sleep.
Wishing you all a pleasant evening and fairy dreams. Catch up with youz tomorrowz!!!For every 60 seconds that you are angry, you lose a minute of happiness.

Dont think I remember the twins, was it before me?

I had to return my dog today. This was engineered to train the other dog. But I got to hug my beautiful step daughter. I love you."Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid." - Albert Einstein

As for the how niece happened... well, once upon a time, my wee brother married a lovely lassie and soon the lovely lassie's belly grew into the shape of a balloon. Some time later a wee wriggly creature emerged. So they took her home and invited me down to meet the wee creature, and they said i is an uncle. Uncle Arsie!Last edited by RunningCourage; August 10, 2017, 12:50 PM.

rustop, I cannot recall where exactly you are going? Can't recall if you are from North America but it appears europe from your post times. When I visited the netherlands 6 or 7 years ago I used a burner phone because it was cheaper than my crazy Canadian plan. But at that time we didnt have little computers in our hands with wifi and super screens. They were Blackberries we were using here. Over here there is wifi all over the freaking place in the west coast and east coast of america and Canada. Actually a wide network of it now. From Vancouver to So Cal. Can't recall where you are exactly visiting, but in Canada, Tim Hortons is safe. I hit it here accidentally and its actually annoying (cogeco hotspots), maybe I need to remember to turn off wifi when I leave the house. Even freaking liquor stores here have wifi. It has literally become an advertising mechanism. You are triggered all the time. Its literally all over the place. Libraries often will give wifi, many Mcdonalds, Casinos. There are dark zones inside some buildings like walmart. We use an app called flipp here to price match or quick check and it seems some stores dont like the concept so you end up in a data trap (either that or the building was built unintentially that way, aka faraday cage) Or designed to use only their network because its so powerful. Tethering now is actually a common concept as some of us have unlimited plans or so much data we never use it all. Watch out for false networks, or tethering through someone you don't trust, as they are designed to steal your data, bank, personal info (depending on what you access or log into). Airports or points of political unrest or political structure are especially exceptional for this type of stuff. Unless I'm insane or on a trip I can't hit 12gb on my phone without using youtube or something, but on my home network thats easy which easily hits into 3000-6000gb, depends on the season. I have not checked what data points we are hitting in a while (actually maybe I will check).
If you have a phone with enough data storage you can download google maps for an area without having to access wifi.
At any rate, enjoy your trip! Be safe alc and data wise, turn off NFC (near field communication).Last edited by empyr3al; August 9, 2017, 11:57 AM."Everybody is a genius. Re: Join the Army Against Alcohol-August 2017
Evening,
empyr3al...........its the west of Ireland she'll be in. Is a burn phone what we would call a pay as you go in the UK and Ireland?
RunningCourage........I thought it was all gooseberry bushes and cabbage patches with a few birds and bees thrown in for good measure.
Took Buddy out for a walk. He's not too bad to handle. When he tugs though he's a strong little beggar......arm was nearly out of its socket. Its so charming the way everything is new to him.It could be worse, I could be filing.
