Morning peeps,

JC, Buddy's "ownership" of everything reminds me a wee bit of my 2 year old niece. If it's cake - it's hers. Daddy's wallet - hers. Mummy's shoes - hers. Even the family car.... hers.

Rustop59 - hiking the Inca's... that is very inspiring. Great job!

Morning Mr G and Stirly and to everyone else. Have a great day :0)

Good morning folks.
Ethanol is a toxic chemical, why would I drink it?

Morning all..
Woke up with a strong feeling of relief that I don't drink anymore. Long chat with a very hung over family member yesterday probably helped. Another relly in a very bad way on the addiction front too and maybe it was thinking about Marios story that made me grateful. Sounds like he really beat the odds and he was a much happier person for it.

rustop59 well done missus, achievements on all levels there! The holidays are tricky but so satisfying to wake up fresh for another adventure. Any surprises, how was the food, was it tough going?

Buddy sounds like he's keeping you busy JC!
Wave to me G, RC and Tabbers...
stirly-girly things any better with you?

Hey Pauly, it's been a while, and something inside me to check in with the army. I forget how supportive a place it is.

Sorry to read of your family troubles of late. Sending you my best, you're a fighter

IamMary ........its awful watching someone who's still in the grips of the madness.
What do the kids think of you being a none drinker now as its the second holiday you've had without a gargle or three.

RunningCourage....its like we've all been drawn to the mother ship these last few days. Are you going to give this another bash. A niece...........how did that happen?

I do not attend church, but my father does. He returned after reading the shalem digest for Spring 2017. Gave it to me, or actually I found it before it got thrown out. "Loving someone with an addiction". I had no idea that christians (maybe Canadian) had altered their thoughts. Like it talks about multiple types of addiction. I might scan it or find a link. Johann Hari which I have commented on a number of times, in multiple threads is mentioned. Johann Hari "Everything we know about addiction is wrong" Blows my mind how much we have changed in open minded christianity has change. Even though the government hasn't. https://shalemnetwork.org/wp-content...2017-final.pdf. I'm starting to have some hope as for this Canadian and very progressive.

Good evening Army!!

Jackie - I can't believe the twins are 7 already. Wishing them a very happy birthday!!

IamMary - thanks for asking. Things are about the same. Younger son still trying to find out how to deal with a wife that he can't believe anything she says and wondering what his life is going to be like from here on in. Basically, because of the baby, she's got him by the knackers and knows it. I'm still biting my tongue to keep from giving her a piece of my mind and then some. Don't want to antagonize her seeing as she could just up and bugger off back to her home town and my grandbabies would be a 7-hour drive from here. Mr. Stirly still completely self-centred but our business is going well and I'm sober, so that's two positives out of four!! Just booked myself a room at the place we went last summer. Booked a single room just for me this time. Mr. Stirly made me bonkers last year. Only for three nights but it will mean I get away for a bit.

paulywogg - good to see you. Keep on trying. That's the best you can do. The only ones who lose are the ones who give up and I see that you are a fighter. In spite of your troubles, you keep on trying. Good job!!
