    Remembering Mario

Hi ,I have just written this short verse for Mario...on a personal level,I chatted to him a few times,in fact he was the one that encouraged me to put the drinking verse in my wallet on my phone everywhere which formed a massive part of my strategy all those years ago,I knew him far less than a lot of people here.
To that end,if anyone objects to this poem,or wishes to change it ,please let me know..otherwise please join me in remembering him...

    Thank you.

    MARIO

We knew you as Mario on these boards
A friendly, funny and helpful dude
Supporting those struggling to kick the booze
    Encouraging where you could.

Your past and previous form is nothing to us
We should take you as you were,
A kind of man who made good from bad,
A man who chose to care.

So goodnight, god bless, you helped so many,
    More than you will know,
Wherever you are whatever you’re doing,
We ll remember our friend Mario

What a beautiful poem Mick. RIP Mario, you helped more people than you will ever know. Today is a sad day for all of us who knew Mario personally or on MWO. A truly wise man who was a valued member.

I just knew Mario over the boards here.. but he reached out personally to encourage me on several occasions.. most recently, I found his daily posts in the Nest inspiring and full of acceptance and support. He helped so many of us here..

Thank you, Mick, I can't stop thinking about the tragic end to someone who was so helpful and hopeful here. When I first came to MWO, I repeatedly (and desperately) asked when the cravings would subside, Mario was the one who answered. He offered encouragement to all. I have missed him these last 3 months, and I miss him more now. RIP Mario. B

To my friend Mario, thank you for being you...

Quitting and staying quit isn't easy, its learning a whole new way of thinking. It's accepting a new way of life, and not just accepting it, embracing it...
Worry about tomorrow, tomorrow. Just get through today. Tomorrow will look after itself when it becomes today, because today is all we have to think about.
Friendship is not about how many friends you have or who you've known the longest. It's about who walked into your life, said "I'm here for you", and proved it.

Hey everyone, sorry I don't get time to read all the threads. What happened to Mario please?

Sorry to hear of Mario's passing. I was a beneficiary of his knowledge and support. Is there a formal statement anywhere on the boards announcing his passing. I've just seen a few comments here and there on a few forum posts.

Mario certainly helped me. The resource in my signature line was posted by him. It was exactly the right tool at the right time for me. RIP, kind soul.
