Re: Join the Army Against Alcohol-September 2017

Evening,
Its my Jenny's birthday today.........she's up here tomorrow for the weekend............raced a round town this morning getting her some wee gifts and forgotten the blessed wrapping paper. Of course I had enough time to pop into Primark and but some stuff for me

I'll take some of those ribs, Catchy.

Going to have to do a very late night shop at Tesco tonight. Mr JC's had to work very late and honestly with the weekend we've got on don't know when we'll get the time. Shall I wear my pyjamas?
It could be worse, I could be filing.

Mr JC ended up getting in around 9:30pm so we were pootling around Tesco about 10pm..........it wasn't bad at all. Masses of shelf stackers out and some good tunes being blasted out...........must be to keep the staff awake.

Got a couple hours to puppy proof the house before Buddy the Beagle and his entourage arrive. Jenny and her fiance are off to the GNR pasta party this afternoon.

You would fit in well in Dublin JC , that was a craze at one stage. Full day yesterday, did about 6 hours driving so going to take it easy today. Lasagne made, maybe short walk, that's about all that's planned.

ASDA after 8 - bread for 5p, fruit, veg and much more for less than tuppence ha'penny.

Afternoon troops. Typical Saturday - wake up thinking I should lie-in. Don't. Run 20 miles. Get home, knackered and just slouch.

My Uncle's been very ill of late - had an erupted appendix, thus now has peritonitis (tho the doc he saw originally diagnosed him with a urinary infection without doing any tests - my Aunt had said she thought it might be that as he'd had it before, so doc went, well ok, probably is then put him on antibiotics and for 4 days he has a perforated appendix leaking poison into his body). Touch and go last weekend. Will be operating start of next week i think, to get rid of the gunk and the appendix. Apparently it's a dangerous op, but there's no other option it would seem. He's only 82 years young - a spring chicken, with a mind and humour as sharp as one of James Martin's kitchen knifes. Many fingers and toes in Arsie's family are crossed just now.

Right, must go fry a tuna. Have a lovely saturday evening all.

Just having 5 minutes while the house is quiet..........Jenny and Mr JC have taken Buddy and Bess for a walk. The fiance has gone to get his car washed..........its new and I think there was a slight piece of mud on it.

paulywogg..........no didn't go in my jammies......just the usual jogging bottoms...........still managed to look like a right clip...........me in me joggers and Mr JC straight from work in his suit and tie.

RunningCourage.........why is it with a good few doctors that if you're over 70 everything's a fecking UTI . Wishing your uncle a speedy recovery.

All that was left in the cheap stuff at Tesco was some pease pudding and an unidentified piece of fish.

rustop59.....glad you're taking it easy today.

IamMary............going to have to send the tracker dogs out for Tony......

Waves to Catchy, Mr V and Empy and anyone else who drops by.

Hi all,
JC... My ribs were tastie, I use to work for Tesco. An on a career break don't think I will be going back, they course me a lot of stress in the end over something small. Got to say they do love having there music on loud. But there nothing worse then listening to the same tune over and over again when your working there :egad:
I need to do some shopping fridge is empty😲

Have a lovely Sunday everyone x

Good morning everyone. Me too RC. Wishing Jenny the best JC. How are the doggies? Wet one here, think I'll buy the Sunday papers and veg. Feeling very lazy these days. Daughter going back to college next week so I'll try and get back to some routine then.

That link does work despite having access denied on it. Jenny's just crossed 8 miles and is having to walk for a couple of miles.

Bess is just being the laid back Lab she always is..........now Buddy......bit excitable (there's an understatement) but he's been playing quite happily in the back garden............unfortunately someone left the back gate open when he went to join Jenny's fiance on the route..........I'm not naming any names but I've been married to him for over 30 years...........and Buddy scarpered as fast as his paddy paws could take him. I could have died when I realised he wasn't in the garden........luckily he hadn't got far and found him sniffing something obviously wonderful under a bush so I grabbed him and got the lead on him which he tugged so hard he went flying off again. Luckily a lovely young man passing scooped him up and held on to him till I got there. I reckon I've lots 10lbs and the rest of my marbles in the last hour.
He's had his dinner and now having a nice long rest in his crate.
