Re: Join the Army Against Alcohol-September 2017
Hellooooooooo,
I was just thinking that being out was the boring bit..........I'd be mentally saying to the rest of whoever I was with............hurry up, hurry up, FFS hurry so we can get another round in or hoping it was nearly time to go home to do some 'proper' drinking. It could be worse, I could be filing.

Re: Join the Army Against Alcohol-September 2017
Hey Molly, I'm doing just great, thanks. Our family had two deaths this past week and I am so GRATEFUL to taking my 90-year-old Mum to one of the funerals and doing it sober. The joy when I hear that my mom "doesn't know what she would do without me" is incomparable to anything I've ever known or felt. I put her through hell with my drinking. I am working on forgiving myself and that is NOT coming so easily.:sad:
Huge thanks to Jackie for reaching out to me last week when I was quite emotional. Thank you, Jacks!:heartbeat:
I drank to procrastinate many times...to avoid doing mundane work tasks I detested...OR because I couldn't make up my mind WHAT I wanted to do with a weekend day..."ah, I think I will just relax with "a few' drinks. Yeah, right. UGH. The bottle of scotch would be emptied in no time. SHUDDER CRINGE AND DON'T DO THIS AT HOME. yuck.

Evening.
Good to see you Rusty, sorry to hear about your family, 2 in a week
Yes, it was hard to get rid of the notion that life wouldnt be boring without booze, especially when it took up so much brain space. Maybe thats why it feels very empty for a while.
Running, Netflix and icecream. What ever it took really.

Afternoon,
Rusty, you're more than welcome.........Its got to be greatest button ever invented ......the ignore button........well apart from Cadbury's Chocolate buttons
Question of the day..........why on earth did I buy 30% less fat croissants when I know for a fact I'm going to smother them in butter and have a big wedge of cheese?...............best answer gets a teddy from the top shelf.
In fact why do they make 30% less fat croisants? It could be worse, I could be filing.

Thank you for your kind thoughts, Molly. I really appreciate it. I don't read around the boards here anymore, either. I am using the Ignore function for the first time because of a certain person who claimed I was drinking and then forwarded my PM to several people. Indifference is the greatest insult, isn't it? When you like someone or despise someone, they take up space in your brain for free, but when you are indifferent toward someone you don't care enough to even think about them.

anyway -- enough about that - as you say - not going to take up space in my brain either.
Had a lovely evening with the latest addition to my family - a stunning little granddaughter....
and I also have my daughter back to live with me for a few months so I won't be constantly surrounded by men all the time!!!!

Re: Join the Army Against Alcohol-September 2017
Lovely, lovely to see new life, Molls.
All good here.........just off the phone with Jenny. Today has been on the team building stuff which seems to be zip-wiring between trees and working out how to get three student teachers across a river using a shoe box and some sellotape ............she's enjoying it.
Tomorrow is confidentiality between teacher and pupil and being on social media. It could be worse, I could be filing.

Evening all.
All good Chez Satz at present.
Nothing much to report. Young Satz if I was to judge - looks contentedly sober. This may be IT folks.
Working next 7 days on the trot - evenings 5-8pm and all weekend : 10am to 8 pm Saturday & Sunday
I am going to offer it up for all the sinners in the world and that mad fecker Trump :haha:

Re: Join the Army Against Alcohol-September 2017
Evening,
Ive been up since just before 6am, had a mental day, home an hour ago and am just sorted now for tomorrow. OK, if i did this every day, Id be a basket case, but in 'de olden days' Id probably have fallen apart by lunchtime in an anxious mess of exhaustion, begging for the clock to move faster so I could pop a cork and feel normal again. Normal is the new normal.

Rusty sorry to hear the sad news your in my thoughts x
rustop am enjoying my study all good thanks you.
My issue was when I stop drinking was being bored would set in & how am I going to copy without drinking on special occasions feeling bored & resentment seeing everyone enjoying them self with a drink but I remind myself the first drink always does the damage, so don't drink the first drink.Formerly known as Teardrop:l

Re: Join the Army Against Alcohol-September 2017
Morning, luvverlies.
Been meaning to tell you for ages.......a few weeks ago I was finally tidying up the last of my Granny's stuff ( 3 years since she died) and came across some spectacle cases.........about 8 of them. I got a bit emotional and thought was thinking how much I loved that woman and how much she loved her glasses............demanded a new pair every year. Anyway I was sat on the floor and opened one of the cases and under the glasses was a little note just saying............I love you.........I got the warm and fuzzies and a little tear in my eye.
I've kept those and given the rest of them to charity.....It could be worse, I could be filing.
