        Is a Lent bike one of those that the priest uses before Easter?

                  Good morning folks, aren't sober Sunday mornings are the best. Time for a tiny celebration, a little personal sense of achievement and re-enforcement that we are on the right road. Sobriety has become the norm, the week, no weeks, go by now without a thought of AL. The weekend used to be the hardest for me to not drink or at least thats how I perceived it. Now it is isn't, its as simple as that.
                  Ethanol is a toxic chemical, why would I drink it?

                      Good morning ARMY!!!!!

                      Having a lovely but busy Sunday morning. Listening to Adele while doing my chores - thinking of you, Tabbers!!

                      Weather has turned cool here, in the mornings especially, but I welcome it. Not crazy about the days getting shorter but nothing I can do about that. I am gloriously sober, enjoying life in spite of the many ups and downs. Dealing with things I can deal with and letting the rest slide until they take care of themselves. I can only take care of me - the Universe will take care of the rest.

                      Kids and grandkids are as well as can be expected. Youngest baby shows signs that he will be walking soon - can't wait til that happens!! Younger son is heading for a divorce but nothing I can do about that either so will simply be as supportive as possible.

                      No thoughts whatsoever of drinking and haven't had any for many, many months now except for that one time in the summer and they were just thoughts that came and went.

                      Since June I have hooked up with an old friend of mine who celebrates 9 years sober the 2nd of December. He also stopped smoking 3 years ago. We have the odd discussion about drinking and how it affected our lives and how we wasted years in the cloud of AL but we both know that regrets won't change anything so we both keep looking and moving forward. We love a lot, laugh a lot and enjoy each other's company. He's really the only person who can understand me so I am very grateful that he is back in my life and he feels the same way about me being back in his.

                        Hello Greek & Latin linguists, I did Latin in school, dog I am showing my age now. The Christian brothers taught us Irish, Latin and English in that order and in their own inimitable way.

                          We took Latin, too, KTAB - I did two years of it and frankly, I quite liked it. I think that and French that I took for 4 years actually helped me learn Greek more quickly because I had the basics of a different kind of grammar that what the English language is based on - with masculine, feminine and neutral genders, etc., etc., After 34 years in Greece, I can honestly say that Greek comes easier to my mind than English does now.
                          I like that they taught you Irish first. Very important that the mother language is taught to the younger generations. Greeks are in danger of losing the basics of their language, the way younger people talk these days. Never mind that on FB they write Greek words with Latin letters which makes me mental. If you're gonna write Greek, for dawg's sake, use Greek letters as well. WTHeck....??!!

                          Hiya Molly!! Did I read that you were in Greece? Hope you enjoyed it enough to come back another time....
