Re: One Step at a Time - October 2017

Hello everyone. I hope that it has been a fantastic day for everyone or the start of a fantastic day depending on time zones.

catch - so sorry that you are still dealing with that cyst! I hope that it goes well. It is poor timing for you to have to take your exams the next day. I'm sorry but I am sure you will do great.

Liz - I was glad to hear that CJ is coming home for the holidays. It might be helpful if you would reach out to that person. Maybe tell her if she wants to talk, you are there for her? I don't know. Such a hard thing.

    Techie - how are you?

@Mr Vervill - So happy for you. You are rocking it.

Rusty - you sound good. You home this week?

Well - dinner time and I'm not done blabbing. LOL I'll try to be back. I know that you all will be holding your breath until you hear from me again. :rotlf:

Wow, what a day! I went on a second interview today, they hired me and asked me if I could stay the rest of the day:yay:. I ended up shadowing the girl I am going to replace. I will go in again tomorrow and probably everyday for awhile till I've got it down. It's a much slower pace than the hospital was and that's a nice change. It's much closer to home and no early mornings :welldone: I got up at 7 and feel like I slept in. Should've done this a long time ago. Came home quick made dinner and headed over to the storage unit as we sold some of hubby's filing cabinets and the guy was coming to pick them up. I am exhausted.
Yes Nora, I am holding my breath till you come back and start blabbing! You've been kinda quiet and I worry when your quiet
Rusty, is it getting cold by you now too? We may have frost tonight!
Off to read a bit and unwind after a most unusual day. Sweet dreams guys!

Re: One Step at a Time - October 2017

Liz that's wonderful news. I hope you find the new job rewarding! I'm so glad that you're getting to talk to CJ.

My sister and I spent all day yesterday helping my parents with the move (yesterday was the actual moving day). I'm very grateful that at 83 and 81 they're both still relatively fit and healthy, but it's very sad to see that they're slowing down so much and literally couldn't have done it without our help.

OK - back to the books!

Re: One Step at a Time - October 2017

            Hi Guys,

I am in a rush because I have to be on-site EARLY today and then tomorrow I leave for vacation in South Carolina with my sister. Sorry this will be short and I won't be able to address everyone.

Liz-CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!:yay::welldone:I am SOOOOO proud of you and happy that you found a job that is much slower-paced and close to home. You deserve a nice boss, supportive co-workers and a comfortable working environment. That other job was nuts with Ann constantly getting time off, you having to cover for her and then having a mean boss. NO BUENO! I think now that you have a different job and got CJ off to her new adventure that your chances of maintaining your sobriety will be much better. You managed her wedding AF and I know you were worried about that. You came through with flying colors. Very proud of you, very proud.

Glassie-so glad your parents are still with us and I know they must be very grateful for all your help. I know how hard it is to see your parents slowing down. My mom was very weak and dizzy yesterday and so I rushed over to be with her (my sister lives 15 minutes away.. I am well over an hour from her) "episodes" with my mom, have become more frequent. Study hard, dear lady, and thank you for taking the time to post.:heartbeat:

Nora-I worry about you when you don't post...so I'm glad you did! :-0)

Big helloooos to everyone else. Happy Tuesday!!!

Aww, darn it guys, you got me all misty! Up early today and hitting the floor running. Another long day but I'm not complaining!
Just want to really run over and give you guys a big hug (and even that doesn't sound like enough)!!!
Rusty have a fabulous time on vacation. Relax and enjoy!
Glassie, I'm glad you were able to help your parents. Yes the tables have turned.
Nora, yes they said no problem to the time off. It is next week after all. The doctor is an avid skier so he wants to talk about our Switzerland trip. Geez I may actually have to get on a slope?
              Happy Tuesday guys!

                  Liz!
You’ve got some big changes going on in your life right now, they'll all work out for the best I’m sure!
Quitting and staying quit isn't easy, its learning a whole new way of thinking. It's accepting a new way of life, and not just accepting it, embracing it...
Worry about tomorrow, tomorrow. Just get through today. Tomorrow will look after itself when it becomes today, because today is all we have to think about.
Friendship is not about how many friends you have or who you've known the longest. It's about who walked into your life, said "I'm here for you", and proved it.

Today is Mom's 90th birthday. I love her so much. She was holding on to her balloons while she ate breakfast.
