Re: One Step at a Time - October 2017
Good Morning Friends and Happy October 1st!
Nora-thank you for the lovely pic and starting us off on October! How was your weekend away? I hope it was restful.:hug
Glassie-a trip to Africa??? How exciting! I am SO happy for you.:yay: When are you going? Are you going alone or with friends? I think you deserve and need a new adventure. My nephew is in the US Marine Corps and is based in Monrovia and we are so glad he will be US-based after January.
Hey pauly-how are you?
Liz-you are probably still recovering from the wedding, and wow, you are handling it all so well.
The wedding was lovely and unlike anything I have ever attended. It was held outdoors at a Girl Scout camp in Oregon. The weather was crappy but I was with my family and I didn't care. We went up into the mountains and that was cool. :-)
Techie-wonderful to see you. How are you feeling?
Big hellos to everyone else...happy AF Sunday.

I am doing well, Rusty. Thank you. Sending positive thoughts to everyone as move into the height of the fall season. BTW, I just LOVE Halloween. Have a great rest of your Sunday.
In other news, I am joining up with two loons in an effort complete a thirty mile hike in the Sierras beginning tomorrow. I will share all the gory details when I return. This will be a challenging hike with a high degree of difficulty. So, I’ll get back to packing. xoxoOutside of a dog a book is mans best friend. Inside of a dog its too dark to read

It was nice to get away. And I really did let it all go. I decided that if they needed us, they would call.

Re: One Step at a Time - October 2017
We were sitting out by the pool yesterday. And the most amazing planes flew overhead (scary low & loud). We oohed & aahed. Then went back to relaxing. Here came some more. Then in a while, another group. We had no idea that an air show was going on this weekend. It was down the road about 20 minutes. But, some of the planeIt was an awesome sight. I googled it a few minutes ago and it was the Snowbirds/Royal Canadian Air Force that was so amazing. The Snowbirds and The Blue Angels. We just happened to be in the right place at the right time to see this amazing show. We were between the staging airport for some of the planes and the airport where the airshow was.

Well - I don't know how to make it work. But, if you click on that picture, you might or might not see a video of a couple planes. LOL"Only I can change my life. No one can do it for me.".....Carol Burnett

Re: One Step at a Time - October 2017
Nora, WOW WOW WOW....those planes were REALLY flying low...I would jumped under a table and hidden. Hahaahah!! What a wonderful and serendipitous moment..an unexpected surprise. I've never seen an air show so I am just a wee envious. ;-) What a beautiful venue...were you at a restaurant or at a spa in that photo? To answer your questions....no, I wasn't in Florence. I have no idea where Florence is so I will google it. ;-) I think Oregon is beautiful but that non-stop rain is just so depressing. It rained all weekend! My sister went to the U of O and she would get SO depressed in the winter time because it would rain instead of snow. That would drive me bananas. I hear the summers are gorgeous, though. To answer your second question...LOL...and thank you for asking, BTW...I am local until Thursday and then I fly to Canada for a day.
Techie-A 30 mile hike???Wow, if I only had your drive and energy! You really think you are up to it? Of course you are! :heartbeat::yay: How long do you think it will take you?? We're all pulling for you here!

Thanks for sharing Nora, I love that kind of thing! That is so cool! I'm glad you had a good weekend away and you relaxed. I hope you get to do it more often.
Rusty, wondering why the wedding was so, um unique? Would love to hear more about it,if you don't mind sharing.
Techie, I can't wait to hear about your hike. I'm sure it will be quite an adventure.
Glassine, did you tell us when you are going on vacation.
Paula, so good to see you here. I have missed you and have been wondering about you. How is Kelly feeling?
I sold my inlaws coffee tables today:sohappy: the storage unit is very slowly getting emptier! Went to lunch with hubby, Erin and Mark and Logan. We did miss CJ, but I spoke to her in the phone. They are flying to St. Croix on Thursday. The container ship leaves Thursday as well. I hope we will be able to communicate with them somehow when they are there, but we shall see.
Hello to anyone I missed! Wishing us all a quiet peaceful af night!

Re: One Step at a Time - October 2017
Liz-congratulations on selling your in-laws' tables. You are an inspiration to me with your decluttering. I need to do some myself. I loved the picture of you all having a nice lunch out for today. I hope you hear good news from CJ and Joe soon. I'll be thinking of you, and I am here for you.
The wedding was unique because it was nontraditional...not held in a church, and my nephew and his bride were married by a college friend of his who was never a minister,. It was held at the summer camp where my nephew and his bride were both counselors. The ceremony was lovely with all the attendants sharing stories of why they feel the bride and groom were meant for each other...just different, and yet magical and whimsical at the same time. More details later. ;-)
