Re: Join the Army Against Alcohol - October 2017
See you later, Tabbers. Enjoy the garden.
Jackie - love the rabbit pic!!
Yes, he is a very understanding person, funny, intelligent plus good looking and charming to boot. In the 31 years we've know each other, we have never actually disagreed on anything. We don't always agree, but simply, each of us has the right to their own opinion. He's a free soul, not a smidgen of a complex about him and I feel free and liberated when I am with him - the opposite of when I'm with Mr. Stirly. I am lucky to have him as my friend. Enough of that.
Molly - what was the name of the place you stayed in Crete? I spent 6 months there in 1973 - in the town of Ierapetra on the southern coast. Heaven on earth it was then. Quite cosmopolitan now from what I've heard.
Anyone heard from Satz? Just wondering how she's doing - I took a quick look back over older posts.
Hiya to anyone else who might drop by later....

Re: Join the Army Against Alcohol - October 2017
Its one of those blissful Sundays where neither of us have to be somewhere or go anywhere. Mr JC's watching the footie next door.
Proper roast for dinner and a gentle snooze after.
I'm at the doctors tomorrow to see the nurse, just a check up so I'll be waving my poor blistered little toe at her.....it really, really hurts ...but I know this nurse and she'll prolly tell me to hop.It could be worse, I could be filing.

Re: Join the Army Against Alcohol - October 2017
Good morning all. Thread very busy today, great read and great stories . Awake early but stuck the earphones in and watched end of Orange is the new Black. Found it hard to get into the last season. I'm like you JC, nothing much planned and going to enjoy it.

ahhh Stirly --- that's fantastic -- we need a name -- well a pseudonym anyhows?? so happy for you...
We were in/beside Rethymno --- originally booked it for Joe to go on lovely long walks in the mountains and gorges etc... but since he broke his leg that was out anyhow - but it ticked all new boxes -- beach across the road and the old town literally round the corner for exploring and eating - lots of viewing as well -- the old Venetian port and the fortress etc... fabulous museum too -- and the hotel was so sweet -- lovely trip -- loved the Greeks too tho as I said previously -- the men are awful chauvinistic -- dunno if that's just Crete or generally in Greece-- when I once piped up in a conversation about getting a bus or something the greek man literally pointed at a seat and said 'sit down lady' --- ooooohhhh how I kept my mouth shut!!!!???? quite a lot of them were like that - didn't bother me on hols but would find it hard to cope with on a daily basis..Last edited by mollyka; October 1, 2017, 05:31 AM.Contentedly sober since 27/12/2011

Re: Join the Army Against Alcohol - October 2017
Afternoon all,
I'm hiding in the loo due to the volume of small people looking for an endless supply of food.. 2 football matches down, need 5 mins. I slept like a rock and today I feel like I've had several glasses of wine, but I didn't of course, so good to know this is sheer tiredness, like Mollys itch, can't blame the grog! Can't imagine how I would cope if I drinking too..
stirly-girly lovely reading about your new friend.. can we call him Sam. Stirly and Sam has a nice ring
Yourself and Tabbers made me laugh on the old thread (I'm clearly emotional today, anything will make me laugh or cry!). I might cross time travel to the sitting room of JackieClaire or Rusty and hide out for the day!!
Lovely discription of your holiday Molls. Never been to Greece, but it's on the horizon. Everyone here has quite a connection with it, i always feel it's the army hot spot!Last edited by IamMary; October 1, 2017, 07:10 AM.AF - July 19th 2015 :happy2:
