Re: Join the Army Against Alcohol - October 2017

Evening.
What's the craic here then. ????
Good news - young Satz is going into re-hab to get clean & sober. Thank feck.

We all detached and left him to it and told him we were done. We would not watch him ruin his life. To come to us if and when he was ready to get serious about getting sober.
He reached out to his sister for help - he's hit bottom within a week.

Good evening folks,
Relieved to hear your getting though this appalling plague Tabbers, virtual chicken soup on its way

No running around tesco or anywhere. Lunch out, full as eggs and laundry for the rest of the day.
Lovely night with mates last night, not drinking feels very normal now. They dont batter an eyelid now either..

Tony knocking around?

Delighted to hear that Satz. Bet you are so relieved.
Does he have to be some weeks sober before they accept him?

Well If he's reached that decision all on his own and no persuasion from the sis -- that's great -- make sure he reaches a financial arrangement with the rehab to pay them back monthly so he's committed financially as well!! Nothing concentrates the mind like lost finance!!!

Morning lovelies,
satz123..........lovely to hear that, darling. The people I know who have been in re-hab seem to me to have a real connection. There's a whole new world waiting for him and for the most part its pretty good.
It could be worse, I could be filing.

Good morning everyone.Seems to be great news re young Satz--hopefully this will be the turning point in his life.
Our daughter from Norway who will not make it here for Christmas came home for this weekend so we celebrated a big family Christmas on Saturday accompanied by Storm Brian. It is great do these big family celebrations without alcohol and be able to enjoy Cluedo and all the fun kids games without falling drunkenly asleep.

Sounds like a great day anon. Im really getting to enjoy the occasions and nights out, I did brace myself for a long while.
Not having to obsess about how I can keep my wine drip going is a pleasure. Now I can obsess about the cake (and company of course)

Morning all,
There's another bonus...........sober Christmas. Actually mine used to be extremely hammered Christmas Eve and topped up Christmas Day.

Dreamt that our Molls and Joe renewed their wedding vows in our local garden centre with baby elephants carrying the rings...........reception was held at Coronation Street and we only had doughnuts, tequila and ouzo from the corner shop for refreshments. All rather bizarre. No I'm not off my meds.

Working this morning.

Ah that sounds lovely Mary. I don’t mind it as living in the boonies I am used to being the designated driver and not drinking. The drinking at home was my downfall. Just been out for a walk and it is positively balmy, must be global warming, it’s nearly November!

Now that is a do I would really like to be at. I would have been riding one of the elephants in full golden coloured regalia, me not the elephant! Just the one donut for me but deffo pass on the spirits though thanks.
Ethanol is a toxic chemical, why would I drink it?

Good morning all! bit mithered lately with a very full house -- getting used to it but sometimes... you know -- just fancy ONLY MEEEEE in the house like it used to be --- LOTS!!! Ah it'll be fine - I'll learn to be sociable! how's everyone? Nice to see you MrsA - and glad you're better Tabs --
Funny Rusters -- I was always the designated driver too -- Joe will agree that he never ONCE drove home on a night out! I used to think that a night out with him not drinking was WAY worse than a night not drinking myself haha

Off the beaten track here too, so often drove (then home for a very large something and would probably wake up worse that those I dropped home!). Definitely the drinking at home was my problem too... always left me wanting..
