Just hate having dental work done, but most is my own fault. To many years of just passing out in front of the tube instead of taking care of my choppers before bed.
Since I've stopped drinking, the last report for the dental hygienist is that things look good in there. So I've got that, yet another plus.
Holy cannolis [MENTION=1214]Rusty[/MENTION], who makes $500,000/year! Must be a Govt. contractor job, sucking off the taxpayers!

[MENTION=17632]Mr Vervill[/MENTION]...........I used to have a real dental phobia from about the age of 12...........thanks to this witch of a dentist who decided to do a filling without a numbing jab..........assuring me it was fine, absolutely fine.........and to be a big, brave girl.........she hit a nerve, then my gum and then I fainted. Oh my mum was ever so cross. This dental surgery I've been with over 7 years are beyond fabulous with me.
My dentist said its genetic, poor diet (because of the booze) plus poor tooth & gum health care (because of the phobia and the booze) but the 40 year avoidance of going to the dentist when I should have gone rather than the very last minute.

And the lovely thing today.........my dentist's surgery gives out wee tubes of toothpaste.........I asked as I volunteer in am addiciton charity ,if I wrote to the suppliers would they send us some. All addicts are notorious for bad tooth care............any way the answer was yes but in the meantime just gave me a big box to take in tomorrow.

Survived another long day in madhouse -now have 3 days off to decompress and compose oneself before facing the lunacy again!

That relative I referred to yesterday..... one minute is screaming hysterically in your face, then crying, then all smiles and thankful for the care we give to her Mum. She scares the feck outa me! Anyways, She slipped out in a rant today 'and I don't even drink anymore'!!!! Wow, I was already thinking this girl has issues, and so it seems she may well do.

My mouth is still very sore but I can't really pinpoint an individual tooth it feels more like its my gum or jaw, will hopefully find out in morn after dentist takes a look..

Glad your appointment went well Jacks X Sorry about your phobia. Sounds horrific.
I've attended 6 monthly check-ups since childhood and would've been good 'looking after' the ol knashers over the years. One horrible experience as a student nurse when they removed 3 wisdom teeth in one sitting with very little anaesthetic. Problems with jaw clicking constantly since then. I never really thought of the booze as doing much damage to the teeth but defo know the smokes are not good. Am now worried that maybe they've caused more than just damage to the teeth. Will see.....

Molls - sorry yer feeling overwhelmed x know I value my own space and wouldn't much like sharing my home for too long with anyone friend or family. You need to get a wee getaway spot....a space no-one can find you! Maybes like the equivalent of a man cave ya know?!

Rustop-you must've needed that extra hour this morn. Im sure the doggies didn't mind not getting their hour of walking. Maybe they relished the lie-on too!

Mary -honestly have no ideas for a pressie to buy! I need a hair cut but actually dread hairdresser more than dentist. Have had some horrors with them over the years! Lol.

Not very fond of the dentist either Mr V, didnt get handed down the perfect choppers gene. Think I may have suppressed a similar 12 year old memory to JC.. Although wearing earphones definitely helps.

Hiya all!
Thanks a million for all the comments - they actually lifted me.. yours in particular Tabbers - not an emotional type me usually but it was so kind it brought a little tear to my eye! and I really really have to tap into my gratitude list... ffs -- I am moaning cos I have loved family around me --- how many lonely people are out there??? and generally it's working quite well -- I need to keep an eye on Joe cos he's an anti-social aul fecker too and he's in the house now all the time so I don't need him blowing up at some minor issue (it's always the minor issue isn't it? Not the big picture!!)
And all is super - Jilly had her scan yesterday and she's counting in days rather than weeks now so... yeah -- all's good
I still won't be around as much maybe cos I'm working hard - busy time in my job obviously and trying to finish a baby growbag I'm knitting which has grown into a monster -- it now MUST be done for the big reveal of jnr coming home from hospital!!!
Really hope youse are all well and not angsting about the imminent Christmas period anyone?

Good morning everyone. Glad you survived dentist JC and glad you are feeling bit more chipper Molly. Totally get the whole liking family around but also liking own space. Rest assured there are plenty of us who feel like that but lots won’t be honest enough to admit it. Plus you have the guilt about complaining when you have mothers on Joe Duffy complaining their kids never come to see them :exclaim: You will get through it and lucky you having new baby to look forward to. Speaking of babies, mine is home for few days so I need to go shopping to get some nice food :happy2::happy2:

First of , apologies for not saying hi to Mr V last night x Thought I had mentioned everyone but always seem to miss one.

Brilliant idea Miss Mary thank you! Will be walking the streets now looking at everyone's hair! Thing is though, I'm so used to having to tie mine up that those fancy-dancy down styles just don't 'work' for me, much as they look great.

Rustop- you make me smile and think of Mums, my own in particular, always would've had food in the house and fresh beds made up when any of us came home. We didn't know how lucky we were. Mummy's are special x. Now when going home to my Dads we need to do grocery shopping on way unless we wish to eat porridge oats and skimmed milk!

Finally, dental report...... No issues with teeth or anything he can see in mouth=good.
Thinks may be down to grinding teeth and wear on my jaw joint, recommended give it a week see how it goes but may need a tooth guard for nights = not good. Can't imagine being able to wear one of those things.
One plus is haven't been able to eat as ferociously as usual so already down a few pounds lol! That's my gratitude for today!

@ sweetpea29...........I didn't work hard at all......in fact I got there and there was someone else on the desk. Have say he was a bit of a puzzling kind of bloke and terribly anxious and determined to hang on to his shift that I said there must have been a mix up and not to worry.......went downstairs told the manager and he okeyed it. Lovely to hear about the dentist and the loss of a few pounds...........with a new hair style as well you'll be beating the suitors of with a stick.

Still not sure who's here for dinner Christmas day....if any one.....we've got an alternative plan of shoving the dog in the car, putting a picnic together and going to our favourite place in the world Whitby. Might be a bit blowy but there just might be a chip shop open. As long as Mr JC sees Dr Who we're sorted.

Did an update on the lappy and it went on for hours.

Mr JC is as happy as a pig in muck...........not only has he got the day off........The Ashes have started in Australia and England's score at closing wasn't too shabby.

Molls, a question .........is it different your daughter having a baby to your boys having a baby?

Morning! that Christmas plan in Whitby sounds idyllic Jacks -- well without the chip shop -- think the whole turkey and ham would need to be part of the picnic for me!!! Re. daughters baby -- well yeah - obviously daughters mum is sort of the queen bee - a bit like the mother of the bride I'm guessing - rather than the groom - and she's HERE -- with the boys you were waiting for the info. and obviously boys being boys you didn't always get the info!!! don't think the feelings for the actual baby will be any different - I adore the other three - relentlessly and would lie down under a bus for each of them if required - but the logistics are different -- and nicer tbh..

I hear what you're saying, Molls, you'll be getting all the details from Jilly............its like pulling teeth getting info out of a man of any age.

My Nanna had 17 grandchildren and she made us all feel special. Always had a half a crown to give us when she saw us.:welldone:

Oh Jenny's friend has had the twins...........the girl weighing in at 5lb 8oz..............the boy a whopping 8lb 2oz.
