Re: Join the Army Against Alcohol-November 2017
Evening all. Went well in 'The Quare Place'.
Only good can come from this.
Me & Mr S getting quality time and he HAS to talk about things to them in the group - and the knock on he is talking more about 'emotional' things to me on the 2.5 hour drive.
Young Satz is very contented and listening to all. When we were 'spilling' on events that happened - I still sensed a bit of denial and arrogance there but they'll knock that out of him.
I was gonna ask "do ye know the Molly wan " ? - a shockin' alkie that wan....
but decided not to :haha:

Popped in myself to say nighty night.
satz123..........perhaps the feelings you get of denial and arrogance is something you could bring up next time. Although I'd bet a whole pound note the counsellors have noticed. How are you feeling, love?
Paddington 2 is defo a one to see. Watched the first one again on Sunday and its a hoot. I have an original Paddington Bear who was 40 years old this year. I remember our Jenny wearing his wellies the first time it snowed. It could be worse, I could be filing.

Evening Army
Banjaxed here but wanted to call in before leaba.
Satz-so glad to hear it was a positive experience today. As you say only good can come from it. Know we can't generalise about all men but certainly the men in my life (father and brothers, uncles) just don't 'do' emotional chat even when you can literally see and feel the emotion coming from them. It's such a pity for them and those closest. Good on ya for going and engaging, I think you especially deserve credit after coming through your own struggles x
Mary- sorry haven't a baldy what you could do with the apple sauce!! How are ye getting on with the work stresses/mindfulness?

Crikey! Apples, handbags, customer service people and black eyes flying everywhere round this joint! Never a dull moment.
Thinking of you and family Satz.
That emotional stuff can be foreign territory for a fella sometimes. I suppose we open up differently.

Good Morning, Army and a Cheery , Mr.HELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO from Alexandria, VA where I am about 5 minutes away from Washington, DC.
satz123, I am glad your son is learning something in rehab. When my aunt finally went to her 28-day rehab, she said she was in denial until Day 21...just a thought. :-) I think it's marvelous that you are sober and can support him, as well as getting Mr. S. on board. GOOD JOB! :-)
rustop-oooohhhh broadband.....lucky girl!
Molly-my waiter at the restaurant last night said he is from Morocco. Small world, huh? He's been living in DC for years and loves it. The traffic here sucks, though.
Big hellos to Jackie, Sweetpea IamMary, G-Star, Tabbers, Stirly, and anyone I missed...happy sober Thursday!

Hey rusty and all else - have to say the Moroccan people are lovely - friendly and helpful - the language barrier is real as few speak much English but surprisingly my schoolgirl French isn't all that bad and everyone speaks French -
Now must go get organised for dindins - food's great too and I'm getting fat as a fool!!! Talk laterContentedly sober since 27/12/2011

Evening, lovelies.
Thought I'd posted before I went to work. Busy as busy can be.........which is good. Must have lost some weight running up and down 3 flights of stairs getting stuff. The big room was being used for a drug and alcohol course. Asked the bloke who was running it if I can be involved in the next one and he said yesIt could be worse, I could be filing.

Re: Join the Army Against Alcohol-November 2017
Good evening folks
Lovely to see Rusty and Gman call by.
I didn't mean to sound critical re men and emotions. Thanks Gman - I get that ye (mostly) open up differently. Everyone is a product of their upbringing, era, culture etc.. My Dad a product of his, my bros of theirs and so on. I just feel for them sometimes and wish they could open up and be more 'vulnerable' as such.
Jacks that's great you can attend next course. Am sure it will be very interesting.
Hi to Satz,Mary, Tabbers, Rustop, Molls and everyone else. Hope all are well x

Re: Join the Army Against Alcohol-November 2017
Evening..
Id love to attend a course like that JC.. could be very interesting. I think the 1st 12 months here I spend all my free time watching videos, reading blogs, articles. Havnt been so diligent of late, probably a good sign.
rustop59 - lucky you!! poles are getting closer to us, but I dont think it will ever make it. Imagine brought out a new wireless broadband targeting rural areas, must say, its excellent - speeds as good as fiber now.
Molly, your a great ad for Morocco, sounds just gorgeous. Joe cured yet?
All grand here SweetPea thanks, keeping an eye on my head though.. metaphorically.:happy2:
How are you doing? Do you feel back on track?
Men in my life mostly dont do emotion much either. I suppose we learn to work around it, read the signs, communicate differently.
Leaba, night night all..AF - July 19th 2015 :happy2:
