Re: One Step at a Time - November 2017

Morning all.
Congratulations on 40 years Nora!
Glad to hear the new job is going well, Liz. Semi-regular hours for a nurse is wonderful. I know all about working crazy hours.
Rusty, glad to hear you get a few days with your mom.
Pauly, hope your visit with your mom goes smoothly. I hope you can be some comfort to her.
Where is AG?

You know where to reach me Pauly if you need a bit of extra support this weekend!
Quitting and staying quit isn't easy, its learning a whole new way of thinking. It's accepting a new way of life, and not just accepting it, embracing it...
Worry about tomorrow, tomorrow. Just get through today. Tomorrow will look after itself when it becomes today, because today is all we have to think about.

Nora-Congratulations on your 40 Year Anniversary!!!! Wow, that is fantastic! Congratulations!:welldone::heartbeat:

Liz-so glad you got to spend time with Logan, and that your work is much closer to home now. YIPPEE!!! Do you miss your old job and co-workers? I bet you don't miss your old boss. ;-)

Pauly-I am here for you, too, if you need extra support. I know how hard it is for you not to drink when your mom's in town, she stays with you, and then makes you feel like you're missing out if you don't drink.

Hey Mr. V and Cowboy!

Great news for me...my client says I've given her enough value and even though I was supposed to be on-site here for 4.5 days, she says I can finish up today and she has no problem paying me for 4.5 days. I get the whole day at home tomorrow. :-) :-)

OK, I have to deliver my final report in an hour so back at it. Hope you are all having a happy Hump Day!

Good morning! happy Thursday
Rusty, I'm happy you've got the day! Gotta love a freebie! What are your plans for the day?
I have thought about your question and I honestly do not miss my old job. I miss one or two of the people and the benefits and that's it. Thanks for asking. I do miss my old boss, but she's retired anyway. Change is hard but I am adjusting.
Well I'm off. Tons of things to do.
Have a great AF Thursday

Congrats on your 40th, Nora! We celebrated our 40th last June. You asked about our weather. Mr. V and I have pretty much the same weather as each other. Yes, I experience the 4 seasons. I am liking winter less and less with each passing year! LOL! But without it, the other seasons wouldn't be quite as special. Spring and Fall are my favorites.:happy2:

Greetings to all!

Hello all. I am glad that tomorrow is Friday. I think that I'll take hubby & Mom to Supercuts tomorrow. They both are looking shaggy. I look worse than both of them but I'm going to put mine off for another week. I go somewhere else and have it cut & colored. I just don't want to sit in the salon for an hour & half. Not in the mood. So, I am very shaggy.

I guess in my head, I was thinking that it was still Fall everywhere. But, I guess it has turned into winter hasn't it?

Finished Season 2 of Stranger Things last night. Wow! I haven't watched Mom. I'll check it out on my laptop first. Since you said you weren't comfortable watching it with your husbands.

Dill, what a lovely way to put it! I too, live with the four seasons and like winter less each year. But you're right it makes the other seasons more beautiful! I am not dreading winter as much this year as I don't anticipate having to drive in it. I will now be getting "snow days" at work. We are hiring someone to shovel my parents out, too. A lot of my winter stress is relieved.

Nora, please let me know what you think of the show " Mom". I think the whole alcoholic thing just made me uncomfortable.

I am looking shaggy, too! Like Nora, I am waiting til next week for my cut and color. I hate sitting there for 2 hrs.
dill:congratulatory: Congratulations on your 40-year anniversary! Your husband is one lucky guy. I am so glad we can "see" each other.

Liz-ahh...snow days...my snow days mean my flight has been cancelled. Have a good day at work.

Hi to everyone else! Another long commute today! :-(

Morning friends,Nora,I'm with Liz on just feeling awkward about the show being about alcoholics in recovery in front of my hubs, they joke a lot and laugh about it and I don't want hubs to think that I think it's "cute"to be a drinker or whatever,Dill, did you watch TWD this past week? That show just has me anxious when I watch it,Negans crew is just too big and I don't know how they're gonna conquer him and them Rusty,be safe on your commute I don't think my mom's coming down,if not it's a relief right now I hate, hate saying that! It just feels like deja vu cuz she and Jon were here last year at this time and thats the last time I saw him,,,I think that was what was really causing my anxiety, not so much her just the memories, ugh, wishing everyone a nice AF Friday,,off to 99 cents store later for more wrapping paper and off to other store to search for a turkey(or 2)
I have too much shit to do today and tomorrow to drink:sohappy:

I'm taking care of the "tomorrow me"
Drinkin won't help a damn thing! Will only make me sick for DAYS and that ugly, spacey dumb feeling-no thanks!

I've never watched the show Mom. I'm going to take a look at it on line if I can so I can see what everyone is talking about.

Pauly, I did watch TWD last week and liked it but I know exactly what you mean about how anxiety producing it is! I feel the same way. I was really, really sad that Shiva the tiger died. I guess we feel that way because we have grown to care about some of these characters and we don't want to lose them! Funny, isn't it? Some people think it's just zombie show! :happy2:

Good Morning!

Loads of housework to do today...and will start to take Fall decorations down to get ready for Christmas. Where did the year go? It flew by! Can't believe it will be Thanksgiving next week. What is everyone doing for the holiday?? abcowboy, I know our Thanksgiving is just another Thursday for you in Canada. ;-) Mom and I will be going to my sister's. I don't have to cook or bring anything except my Mom. LOL. YAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!

Pauly and dill, I tried to watch one episode of TWD and I couldn't get into it...probably because I had never watched it before and didn't have any kind of history about the characters. Yes, Dill, I did think it was a show about zombies. Haha! I will give it another chance, though, because if you guys like it, I will probably love it, too! I know mama bear never missed it. I miss that lovable goofball.
techie, sweetheart, I hope your treatments in Mexico are going well. We miss you here.

A cheery Hellooooo to Nora, Liz, Mr Vervill, and any friends on our threads who are lurking ;-)....Happy AF Saturday!

Rusty, if I were to try to tune in to TWD midseason like you did, I wouldn't have liked it one bit! It is just a zombie show if you haven't 'grown up' with the characters from the beginning. But, I don't really recommend binge watching to catch up, either! LOL!

paulywogg, I wonder if Ezekiel will come back from that loss too. I'm going to predict that he does, and that he survives the season. What do you think? I thought he was ridiculous when he first was introduced. I reacted to him the same way Carol did. But of course, now I am completely attached to him! As is Carol! :happy2:
