Great story JC, wonder what became of her.... nice to see and remember mario too, he seemed to be a big presence on these boards then.

When is Matilda home Molls??

Santa letters done, gone off up the chimney, the believer, the half believer and the non believer... good craic.

Night all. Have a lovely day with your mam Rusty...

Good morning everyone. Great news Granny Molly, you will all have a very special Christmas. Thanks for your advice the other day. I guess that’s the advantage of treatment facility rather than going it alone. Took advantage of your knowledge and sat down and wrote about it. Think it helped. Stopped me romanizing it for sure. Checking in and reading also helps, just look at JCs and Marys posts above. Lot of people MIA; hope they just busy. Off to work house so better get ready.

Fair dues to you Rusters - so many of us talk about recovery and do nothing about it - using words like 'hopefully' and ' with a bit of luck' - nothing to do with luck - preparation is ALL - hence the old cliche ' fail to prepare - prepare to fail'

Must go get ready for work xx

Good Morning to Everyone...It's 4:05 AM. Happy to be here.

Molly-so delighted you were surrounded by your grandchildren yesterday...what a delightful day!

Wow-fantastic post! Thanks, Molly. :-)
IamMary-I had a great time with my Mom. After I left her house yesterday, she called me 3 times to ask me about various things. So grateful to be sober and have conversations with her that I can remember. When my drinking was at its worst, I would drunk dial her and then never remember the conversation the next day. SHUDDER.

Jackie-We've had black labs in our family for generations. Our favorite, Belle, died last year and we are all still recovering...we miss her so much. I guess that's why I love your avatar.

Speaking of people we miss and "Defining Moments" JackieClaire, I wish I could find the brilliant post from One2Many, who is from Ireland and described her last drunken Christmas Eve and the horrific hangover she had on Christmas Day with her two little kids running and jumping around. It was so powerful! I don't know why I didn't save it and I don't know how to search for it. I think it was around 2007-2008.

Ahhh....must do some work and then more decorating.

Have a great Monday, Army colleagues!

Rusty.............I'm blushing.

Now one little favour.............can every one keep their fingers crossed so I don't have to go over to the son & heir's house this afternoon as they're getting a new kitchen delivered...........they've got a house sitter this morning but I'm it this aftie. So I'm hoping its delivered this morning.

Trouble is I'm extremely curious and its going to take every inch of will power I possess not to have a sneaky peak in some of their drawers.............and wardrobe......and bathroom cabinets.............and the shed.

IamMary..........I often wonder how that lady is. There was also a couple as pissed as farts climbing in and out of a car squabbling about who was the most sober and could drive.

Bet Jilly had the best 4 hours sleep ever...............I've never been able to sleep in hospital.

Hahahahaha!! Ok, I will keep my fingers crossed but I bet they would be flattered that you wanted to peek. I did the same thing to my sister when she and her husband got their kitchen redone. I opened every drawer, cabinet, the refrigerator, etc. She loved it!

I'm not sure if it was a compliment or not but his GF said she's rather have me there than her own mother as she was a clean freak and over fussy.

Oh the GF's mother on board while the kitchen is being delivered would not go over well with me if she's a neat freak...probably criticizing any blemish. Of course, she would want YOU There....you find the positive side of any situation!

Not bad...............had a moment of eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeekkkkkkkkkkkkk Christmas is coming and I've done nothing. ............so I had a nap. I've always got enough food in this house to survive a nuclear attack............so we'll eat. I must have 4 boxes of Christmas crackers that have never been cracked as Bess is frightened of them and I found the red candles I couldn't find last year so we'll manage.
