Re: Join the Army Against Alcohol-December 2017
Evening all. Busy day so just in and putting the feet up. I think being part of this community is priceless. Just reading and checking in every day keeps us focused and we learn so much from those ahead of us. Just found out one of my girls boyfriends is coming on 26th December to 31st. Happy days, as we live in the boonies, they will need to be chauffeured as she does not drive. Happy to be the designated driver and that takes care of any temptation. It was niggling at me a bit so feel very relieved.

Jude58...........thank you again. I don't think it does do us good to remember how and why we're here.
Mr Vervill
So much easier to stay off the booze.

Christ I cannot imagine the circumstance that would make me think it was a good idea.. but..... who knows -- 'cunning, baffling, powerful' is how alcohol is described in the big book... how true!It could be worse, I could be filing.

Re: Join the Army Against Alcohol-December 2017
Evening,
Love the Pre xmas conversations here, timing is perfect. Work night is tomorrow and Ive at least 1 other work yolk zero interest, but i'll drive and brush off questions about my lack of wine again.
Thanks for sharing Jude58, glad your here. This site definitely kept me sober, so important to chat about the positives, remember the negatives, learn, listen, encourage.AF - July 19th 2015 :happy2:

Re: Join the Army Against Alcohol-December 2017
Evening.........went to the craft thing at work this aftie and I was the only one there apart from the lass who runs it. In a charity shop I'd found some weekly sewing and knitting books from 1948/49 so took them with me.........who fancies a knitted bathing costume.
Sadly my bunged up nose is not the heating vents................I have a stinker of a cold. A proper sneezy, red nose stinker, family size pack of tissues usage in half an hour cold.It could be worse, I could be filing.

Good morning everyone. Another Baltic one, glad I don’t have to drive. Sorry you have a dose JC, feet up and lots of tlc and vitamin c. Very quiet in the barracks these days, hope all are ok. Nothing much planned for today, think I’ll put up the tree and some of the decorations.

Re: Join the Army Against Alcohol-December 2017
Good Morning --- too RIGHT Rusters re. the barracks -- and c'mere lads -- after reading Jude's story - lets be aware that everyone who posts on MWO (down to the age of the site I s'pose) would be considered 'newbies' in AA terms - and each and everyone of us is perfectly capable of 'that moment' that Jude had... surely this is THE time of year that we should ALL be hanging out here?? Not bossing or bullying here - and believe you me I go walk about too cos it's such a busy time of year -- but..... yeah -- we not only should -- we must be here xxContentedly sober since 27/12/2011
