Re: One Step at a Time - December 2017

I was trying to find us a quote for tonight. And the first thing one that popped up was one of my favorites. This just always struck me when I was struggling and looking for answers. I knew that the answer was in me but I kept looking for the magic answer. I was the one that had to change my life. Took me a long time but I finally did change my life. Thank goodness I did.

Morning friends,Nora I've always loved that quote in your signature and I've repeated it in my head over and over throughout the years, its just the doing that can be difficult, glad mom was approved for more hospice time, weird they'd be concerned about weight gain at her age though, usually the elderly are too skinny Rusty,I'm jealous you have a housekeeper! I need one,,we only have us and one little Lou but it looks like a family of 10 lives here sometimes, grrr,I just tidied up the downstairs bathroom yesterday and it already looks gross this morning, spent an hour wrapping presents last night and it killed my back, now I know why hubs pays Brady a few bucks to do his wrapping haha waves to Liz,Mr.V,Glassy and any readers, wishing us all a fab AF Wednesday
I have too much shit to do today and tomorrow to drink:sohappy:

I'm taking care of the "tomorrow me"
Drinkin won't help a damn thing! Will only make me sick for DAYS and that ugly, spacey dumb feeling-no thanks!

Pauly- I am SO jealous that you have started to wrap presents. It will be Dec. 23 for me. Hahahah!!! I have a housekeeper because my condo would look like a war zone if I didn't. Haha...I am spoiled...she even folds my laundry.

Nora-so glad your mom got approved for more hospice time. :-) LOVE YOUR QUOTE!

              Hello Steppers!

Nora, I think the aluminum trees are awesome. Does it change colors? I remember being so jealous of my best friend when we were kids 'cause her folks put up an aluminum tree with a color wheel!

Hey Pauly, I'm wrapping too. I just do 2-3 presents at a time. I burn out on wrapping really fast for some reason. I still have more to buy. Got my 6yo granddaughter a sleeping bag. She'll be so happy! And I know you'll think it odd, but I bought my 12yo grandson a hot dog maker, the kind with rollers. I just think he'll like it! For his birthday he requested a cotton candy machine and he had a ball with that!

Rusty, I hired a housekeeper when I was working full time. I just couldn't waste my weekends with cleaning chores. It didn't seem fair! I had the housekeeper come twice a month. She cleaned only. Didn't make the beds or do the laundry. But, now that I am retired, I still have her come once a month to clean. I guess I'm just spoiled now! Ha!

              Liz is in Switzerland?! Wowzer!
              Dill

Dont forget, you can: start late, start over, be unsure, try and fail AND STILL SUCCEED!

If it is important to you, you will find a way. If not, you will find an excuse.

                  Hi all
Isn't it scary how fast Christmas seems to be approaching?
I put my 'tree' up last week but I didn't have an angel to put on top so I had to improvise.

I just tried to put a photo up but it keeps coming out sideways. Does anyone know how to fix that?

I think you’re using your phone Glassy to take pics? I know it does the same thing with my iPhone, so all I do is turn the phone 1/4 turn ccw before I take the pic then it uploads properly
Quitting and staying quit isn't easy, its learning a whole new way of thinking. It's accepting a new way of life, and not just accepting it, embracing it...
Worry about tomorrow, tomorrow. Just get through today. Tomorrow will look after itself when it becomes today, because today is all we have to think about.
Friendship is not about how many friends you have or who you've known the longest. It's about who walked into your life, said "I'm here for you", and proved it.

                        Love your tree, GLassie!

Cowboy - I didn't know that. I wondered why my pictures were always sideways. Duh, turn my phone. LOL

Rusty - Sounds like you are running around like crazy.

Dill - I want to find a pic of my tree and send you a pic. The hot dog maker sounds cool!

I went for a massage tonight. I've been having lots of pain so I was glad to go. I told her that I was surprised she didn't hear all my nerve endings sighing with relief. LOL

I'll see if this pic of the very beautiful Bella works using your method.

Well it looks like it did, thanks!. Does that mean that you can only post pics from your phone if they're in landscape rather than portrait?

Love the picture of your cat, Glassy. She is a beauty!

Nora, I look forward to seeing your tree! And I'm very glad your masseuse was able to relieve some of your pain.

I saw a news story a couple of days ago that UPS is having a hard time keeping up with demand and that some packages may not arrive in a timely manner so fair warning: order early!!
