Merry Christmas, Dear Friends!
Had a wonderful time with my mom and my sister and her family yesterday....a Currier and Ives Christmas for sure. Lots of great food, conversation, laughs, and my gifts to everyone were joyfully received! I have an amazing family....I am SO very lucky. I am at home now, cleaning up the Christmas wrapping, etc. and doing some paperwork. Grateful for the friendships in my "real" life and here, too. This is a fantastic thread!:heartbeat:

Re: One Step at a Time - December 2017
Merry Christmas again. Thank you to everyone that stopped by to send greetings.
It sounds like everyone has had a good one. I do wish that we had heard from Techie. I hope that he made it home in time.
We had J&C over with her sister and 6 year old daughter and 7 month old daughter. We have had a wonderful afternoon together. Mom didn't really understand what was going on. Once in a while she would realize it was Christmas. She hasn't been feeling the greatest the past few days. But, she did well today.
Hubby & I had fun playing with the kids. The baby was fussy today and every time that I would take her (which I kept doing, poor thing) she would end up crying. She wouldn't even go to my DIL. But, she went right over to hubby and put her head down. LOL We are practicing.
J is most definitely showing. She is only 9 weeks but she looks pregnant. They don't want anyone to know yet and our neighbor came over. J kept her niece standing in front of her but once she bent down. We all saw my neighbor look at her stomach but she didn't say anything. And it was really quick so maybe she thought she had just gained weight.
So, how did HRH and Logan do? Fun times????"Only I can change my life. No one can do it for me.".....Carol Burnett

Rusty - Currier & Ives Christmas - oh, how special. I'm so glad that you had a good one. Are you off this week too?
Glassie - are you recovering today? When does your son come home? Is he in my neck of the woods?
Liz - How did your Dad last night & today? How did the baby do?
I thought of all my Army friends today. My SIL gave us a box of Christmas crackers. We had never had them before. They were so much fun. I couldn't get mine to pop though. But, I got my toy out of it anyway. Really fun. I guess it is more common in other countries than it is here? Or let me say that it has not been a tradition that I usually hear about."Only I can change my life. No one can do it for me.".....Carol Burnett

We had a wonderful Christmas here, too. The grandchildren were delighted with there gifts and there were no major melt downs by over-stimulated children not getting 'the exact gift'! Even the cat and dog were pleased with their gifts!
Nora, Liz, Glassy, Pauly, JC, Mr V, Cowboy, and anyone else reading, I wish you all a Happy Boxing Day!Last edited by dill; December 26, 2017, 07:45 AM.Dill
Dont forget, you can: start late, start over, be unsure, try and fail AND STILL SUCCEED!
If it is important to you, you will find a way. If not, you will find an excuse.

Re: One Step at a Time - December 2017
Good morning and Merry Christmas! Sounds like everyone had great day! As I read back the love and graditude is palpable, I love it!
Nora, I am so excited that she is showing already!
My dad was fine for the holidays. I know it took mom a lot to get him going and she was exhausted, but for the most part he was fine! They are coming over again today and my mom is teaching her granddaughters how to make her famous German Rouladen! I am so excited. It has been such a special Christmas and I am treasuring all these very precious moments.
I have so enjoyed seeing all the pictures on fb too!
Well, off to prep for our cooking adventure today. Wishing you all a fabulous AF Tuesday!

Re: One Step at a Time - December 2017
Hello all. Hope it is a nice week for you. I'm working this week so poor me. LOL
Trying to get this move settled (the stuff I'm bringing from Oregon). It is going to cost so much money. So, guess I better stop putting it off and go over the quotes again.

Re: One Step at a Time - December 2017
Aww, Nora, I'm sorry! I am so enjoying my week off. I haven't had this week off since I started working at the hospital. We always did fun things during this week off when the kids were little and it kinda feels the same!
It is bitter cold here this week and I must admit, I don't hate it. Of course, I'm not outside for too long, but honestly, it's invigorating. I took a quick walk outside and felt great afterward!
Hope everyone had a great hump day!

Yes techie, thinking of you!
Quiet here this week. But that's ok, I'll just talk to myself. Slept so good last night! I have been having some trouble sleeping since we were in Switzerland. Don't know what that's about, but grateful for last night.
Food shopping with my girls today. Need to stock up for CJ who is going home Saturday. She brought home an empty suitcase and is taking tons of stuff home. St. Croix is so expensive! Going to the movies tonight with the kids. I can't even tell you how I am treasuring this time with the kids! Savoring every minute with them.
Sorry I rattled on! Wishing you all a great AF Thursday!

Re: One Step at a Time - December 2017
Good Morning!
Liz-You sound SOOOOO happy, and I am delighted for you!:yay: Enjoy your time with CJ. Loved your FB pics, too!
Nora-big hugs to you....I can't imagine trying to figure out how you are going to move all that stuff from Oregon, and wow, the expense. What a horrific blow. So sorry! :-(
dill-thank you for your sweet words about me and my relationship with my family.:heartbeat: I think maybe my battle with AL and my recovery has made me more grateful to have the business, family and friends that I have....maybe if I hadn't let AL take over my life, I wouldn't appreciate what I have as much as I do. I think the same of you, my friend....your family is SO lucky to have you. Thank you also for taking the time to pop into the thread. You fit right in....we are a smart, kind, and compassionate bunch here.
Glassie-how long did you have to wait before you were able to get into your car? I've locked my keys in my car, too.
techie-thinking of you, sweetheart.
I am in MN but must leave soon as WI is in the middle of a snowstorm.
Happy AF Thursday, everyone!
