Thank youse for the warm hellos - good to have
anon - Snowdon would be a treat - but looks as if it's full already! That's something I've noticed with marathons this coming year - so many are already booked

!
Mers - no antibiotics here either.
They will not cure a virus - which is what the flu is.

Jenny's moving in with a girlfriend until she can find a wee place of her own. She's got her eye on a couple of places so shouldn't be long before she's moved.
That is sad JC, life is all too short.
Good to hear your daughter is getting sorted.
Ethanol is a toxic chemical, why would I drink it?

Good morning Molly and all to come. Good luck with the new bike, nice start to New Year. Vent away Mary, you get it off your chest, might even get some helpful advice and those of us who have passed those years give a sigh of relief before we hurdle off to whatever drama our adult kids have in store for us. Hope young Satz and Jenny are ok and you are feeling better Satz.

Going out tonight in the city. Meeting a friend for dinner and drinks. Driving to the luas so no worries. That’s the end of the Christmas celebrations, thank God. Waves to everyone I have not mentioned, great to see the thread busier.

Morning all.
At a loss as to how to deal with young Satz.
I feel now that he's relapsed - he'll do all the apologies etc and be 'good' for a while - till it happens again.
I can't live like that for the rest of my days - wondering will he? won't he ?
So not sure what is next.

I find it scary that he still thinks there is something to be gained from drinking alcohol ........ I stupidly thought in rehab he'd have learned that he cannot drink.

The bike's living in the kitchen?

Satz. Sorry to hear about your young fella. It must be a struggle for him, and of course hard for you. Hugs and positive vibes sent from over here.

Morning all,

satz123.......I'm always reluctant to to recommend Al-Anon..........but I reckon its time. As parents we've blamed ourselves over the years for things we perceve that the things are children........ failing exams, failing their driving test or becoming an addict is our fault.............its not. Some of them in Al-anon are pretty harsh but its like every programme there's always a zealot.

I hope it goes okay - and I'm not speaking against Al-Anon - not at all - obviously I've never been to one - but my one worry would be that most of them are going to be every bit as damaged by alcoholics as the alcoholics themselves - and are far from experts - I get it going to one of their meetings for support - but advice could be very skewed.... maybe I'm really really wrong saying that. and as I say it's from a position of complete ignorance:hug::hug:
