And this appears to me to be the same kind of logic as tonyniceday analogy of cigarettes and the plane. You forget about it until you know you it's 'allowed'.

Also keeping 'never' out of it will help.
I have never said never to myself - it REALLY works. It feels then that the decision is all yours and you are in control.

At 40 my sis-in-law quit smoking - promised herself when she's 60 she'd start again - she's 60 this year - and now we can laugh about it - but it WORKED.

Well Done Toe Knee !!!!
FORGET the insomnia - you'll sleep eventually.
I suspect a large percentage of those in recovery relapse due to trouble sleeping - don't let that be you
When I was drinking I was the worse sleeper in the world.
After many months sober I got sleep patterns back.

Try Magnesium. There is an oil spray you can get in Holland & Barrett that is excellent - absorbes immediately via the skin.

Welcome Seeker.

How are you doing RC?
Ethanol is a toxic chemical, why would I drink it?

Yeah and that worked for me the other way around. InScotlanf off licences cannot sell alcohol after 10 pm...the only pub nearby closes at 11 as do most around here... so once I knew I could not get a drink it became easier....like stepping on to the plane when you can't smoke.... but bugger that.... I'm going outside for a ciggie!!!
