Well done Tony and RC. Feeling rubbish today I have a cough, sore throat and a headache. Been sick for a few days but luckily have been well looked after.
Hopefully things are improving in the Satz house.

Evening,
Feeling slightly better, its co-codemol every four hours and add a couple of ibuprofen in between. Funnily enough my ears feel suprisingly better. Just general fatigue and a hideous snotty nose.

That didn't half make me smile :happy2: Most things go in one ear and out the other.

So was that 14 hours sleep tonyniceday; Thats one way to get over these tricky days
Wouldnt it be great to put that sleeping spell on young Satz for a few days. How's he doing today satz123?

Yes I knew yourself and Mrs T had your own place Tony. You've made a seriously brave move, shows how determined to you, no risks this time.
Agree with RC on working in bars back in the day.. and it was when I moved away from that scene, I started hiding bottles.

Poor you JackieClaire, maybe you turned a corner and avoided THE dose..

Getting out the popcorn for the Horse and cart story Jude!

Well done Toe Knee on day 7

I was working all day 'till 8pm - came home Young Satz in room. I'd normally go in - but I have run out of words.
I was really tired so just had tea & watched some telly.

Where's that youngfella D'Arsey ????

Working again tomorrow - maybe it's the best thing ...... I tend to just brush over things but this time I'm pissed off and don't want to engage with him yet.

Mers - shove up on the couch & share the popcorn.

Ok we're settled Jude - bring it on !!!

To all who've asked, will work on the horse story and try to post it tomorrow. It's only going on 8:00 pm and I'm already looking forward to my bed and a good book! Used to be a time when I would just be heading out the door to do a little (or a lot) of partying. Can't say that I miss those days!

Good morning folks, hello to everyone, the sick ones, the newly sober ones, the ones who are doing well and those that have troubles right now. Life and all it ups and downs goes on irrelevant of whether we are drinking or not, thing is though that waking up on a Sunday morning with a clear head, feeling human and not having to scrabble together the memories then regrets and shame of what happened last night is, in my book, living. What I was doing before was just surviving not living.
It is still dark here but the day is mine, not one of my 'write off sundays' when I finally drag myself from the bed to the sofa probably about 11 am unable to move. The drinking would start with a 'curer' an hour or two later and not stop till bedtime, likelihood that I passed out on the sofa prior to that.
It is good to remember how horrible that was, how disgusted I was with myself and how many times I said never again but never really meant it deep down only fooling myself. Those days are behind me now and it is a freedom, such a relief. That freedom is there for everyone, we just have to accept the reality and put in the hard work but boy it is so worth it.
Ethanol is a toxic chemical, why would I drink it?
