Re: One Step at a Time - January 2018
Videos are the best for this dill! I absolutely cannot understand the drawings in books but if I (re)watch the videos, I usually can get it. These are probably my favorite ones so far: TUTORIALS | WOOL AND THE GANG

Saturday morning and I woke up not feeling great. Mark has had a fever and cough the last few days. I guess maybe it's my turn now? Will just take it easy. I got up, dressed and ate. Strange but I am soo craving fruit? What's up with that. Off to cuddle on the couch with my flannel shirt, wool socks and an afghan. Hope you are all doing ok.

dill...... I cracked up when you mentioned that knitting and drinking don't make a good combination. I remember many projects that were a mystery to me the next morning; very interesting indeed! I usually stick with simple patterns now, scarfs, blankets and hats mostly. The complicated projects really frustrate me, which defeats the whole point of knitting; it's supposed to be relaxing! I wish that I could crochet, but every time I try I become all thumbs and can't seem to keep the yarn on the hook.
Anyway, just thought I'd put my 2 cents in....hope that everyone's having a good day!

I feel like all thumbs with knitting, Jude58. :harhar:
I just do very basic. The one that I had put away when I was almost done is just that basic stitch. I'll see if I can post a picture.15152683093271958994352.jpg"Only I can change my life. No one can do it for me.".....Carol Burnett

Re: One Step at a Time - January 2018
Good Late Morning, Friends!
Great to see you here, Jude58!:welcome: I am on the plane to Vancouver, BC and I will be in Canada all week. I've picked up a cold so not feeling the best.
Liz-hope you feel better soon. Are you working part-time at your new job? Loved the pic of sleeping Logan on FB. What a cutie!
Nora and dill-I could not knit or crochet my way out of a paper bag. Nora, is that an afghan? It's beautiful.
Hey Pauly! How are you doing?
NoSugar and dill- thank you for the kind words about my Mom and my relationship with her. She is almost 91 and the glue that keeps our happy family together. The severe arthritis pain she suffers in her hips keeps her off-balance and she won't admit it :-( and as a result, she has fallen several times, but then she "forgets" to tell us. My siblings would like her to voluntarily go into assisted living but she is determined to continue to life independently, in her own home. It wouldn't be so bad if she were not so stubborn and wo use her walker, but she thinks that by using her walker that people would pity her and she does not want that. I am not ready for her to go into assisted living but I know she will be safer if she does. SIGH. Thanks for letting me vent.
Has anyone heard from Techie? techie dear, we miss you and pray that you are OK. Please check in.
Big hellos to anyone I missed. Happy Sunday!

Hello all
Rusty - hope you feel better. Everything is going around it seems. Hard to stay well. I am sorry about your Mom. It is so hard when you don't want to force her to move but it's not safe to be alone. Does she have a life alert necklace? My FIL had one but one time he fell and laid there for over a day because he knew my SIL was out of town. That didn't make sense.
Liz - are you feeling any better?

Re: One Step at a Time - January 2018
AG, welcome back! We are here for you! I have missed you!
Yes I am feeling better. Still have a sore throat and a little achy, but I'll take it over yesterday!!
I binged watched The Crown on Netflix and thoroughly enjoyed it. I don't usually do that, but yesterday was the perfect day for it.
Rusty, life alert is a good idea. My FIL had one and used on several occasions. Help was right there.
My dad was against using a cane, but he has resigned himself to it. He didn't want to be pitied or viewed as unable. Your mom will hopefully dome around in time. I wonder if my parents will have to go to assisted living. We will view all our options before that, you can bet on it.
Pauly, I'm waiting patiently for baby news! You guys must be so excited.
Nora and dill, I crotchet or rather tried it years ago. I don't get the ends and starting a new row! It's just not my thing. Erin actually does it. She and Dan have these reindeer stocking holds for their Christmas stockings. Dan accidentally knocked one down and broke off the antlers. So Erin crochet a little Santa hat for the one. Really clever and cute, if you ask me..Last edited by Lizann; January 7, 2018, 05:27 PM.
