Re: One Step at a Time. . . . February 2018
Liz - to answer your post from the Jan thread. Seroquel & Gabapentin combo does the trick for us. It has stopped the hallucinations. Luckily I was able to get the RX filled and she only missed one day. Last time she missed a day, she had an episode but yesterday went ok.
So, is it helping your Dad? I'm so sorry that your Mom is feeling overwhelmed. This is so hard and I am sorry for what you are going thru.
Pauly - you my dear friend are sounding GREAT!!!!!
:checkin: to everyone. I snuck on from work and better get back to it."Only I can change my life. No one can do it for me.".....Carol Burnett

Rusty - how are things going? Any idea on when the move will be? I've been thinking about you.
Glassie - if you get a chance to pass by, here's a great big :sendflowers: for you!! You have been on the go at top speed for so very long. I hope that you can see a break in sight.
Liz - I have been thinking about you being alone for a week. Great job on having a plan! You have got this. Reaching out and saying that you're worried helps. It is not always easy. Please keep talking to us here. I honestly know how you feel - I've been there with the dreams and the 'no one will know' thoughts. But, YOU will know and that's what matters. You are doing amazing by the way - you don't talk about it a lot so I don't bring it up but I'm very happy for you."Only I can change my life. No one can do it for me.".....Carol Burnett

Re: One Step at a Time. . . . February 2018
Great pic Liz!! I need to frame some of these.
Good day today, so so busy, I am finally crashing. Youngest is playing basketball and we are in full swing.
Liz, I really know what you mean by being alone. It messes with my head too. You'll figure it out, you are doing great, and it seems you know yourself well.
I am up way too late! More later - AG

Congratulations, Mr. V!:yay::welldone:
Liz-I like your plan for avoiding AL while hubs and your son are away. Once you get through this alone time AF, your sister won't worry as much, I promise you. ;-) It just takes time. I am SO proud of you!
Nora-we move my mom into her assisted-living facility February 12th. She has to pass a physical with the facility's doctors. Fingers crossed that she gets approved...otherwise Plan B is we hire someone to take care of her in her own home. That was the original plan but my mom didn't want to do that.
At work and taking a break. Happy AF Friday, everyone!

Re: One Step at a Time. . . . February 2018
Hi all,
I have been feeling the need to start posting here again. After all, I have known some of you for a very long time and it feels comfortable to say anything I want. I am still having a lot of trouble staying sober for any length of time. I may have to resort to antabuse...I have been going to moderated chats on the women for sobriety site. I find them really helpful and informative. Also have been doing the 30 day alcohol experiment which is another very wonderful site. And doing the 100 day quit drinking challenge from tired of thinking about drinking, another great site...all of this I still drink about every 10th day so...here I am thinking about taking antabuse....great day to all...glad it is saturday..:yay:

Re: One Step at a Time. . . . February 2018
Hi Bird! Welcome back. I am not where the rest of these ladies and gents are either but they inspire me so much. We just have to keep trying! If I hadn't taken that nugget from here who knows where I'd be today. Thanks for the tips on the other tools that are working for you. I appreciate hearing about them.
My family is out and about doing their thing (basketball, tennis, Science Olympiad) so I have a very much needed quiet afternoon alone in my house. Now that I don't work from home I feel like I am rarely home, so this is great. I just had a great sleep, plan to do some reading and then take the dog for a long walk in the woods at 3pm. They'll all be home around 5pm so I won't be alone for the witching hour, a good thing for me.
Have a great Saturday Steppers! Onward.
