Re: One Step at a Time. . . . February 2018

Got busy out in the garage. Been going thru some of the boxes. Found some neat stuff.

Pauly - how are you doing? How are things going now that Kell is back to work?

Bird - was it a fun weekend?

Glassie - I'm really sorry that you got selected for the task force. I understand why they would want you but I'm sorry for YOU.

Rusty - how are you doing? Are you too busy with work? Have you been able to start any of the work you were going to have done?

Liz - I am sorry that your Dad isn't doing well. Mom hasn't been doing great the past few days. We're a little concerned.

Dill - For some reason I couldn't get your picture to come up. I'm happy that you can be planning your garden. We're not going to have one this year. I'm going to miss it.

Techie - how are you doing? Are you still in California or back in Mexico?

Oh Liz that's so sad about your Dad. You poor love. I've heard a lot of people with dementia get terribly nasty towards their partner and it must be one of the most heartbreaking things to go through. And Nora - I hope it's nothing serious about your Mom.

I loved that cartoon! HRH was here yesterday and Jeepers - she just never stops. I thought her father was busy but I think she's even more so. Lucky she's so cute! That reminds me - I have to go and clean a hundred fingerprints off my glass doors. :happy2:

Glassie - you better get those fingerprints cleaned up so she can do it again. One of the things I found was a sweatshirt that we gave my Dad with my son's handprints on it.

LOL - I just realised they weren't just fingerprints. She was also squishing her mouth up against the doors while eating brie and frozen grapes.

Morning friends,Nora, love the cartoon and ain't it true! Romeo may only be 5 weeks old but he acts like a boy diva already! Only wants to be held, will only sleep in a certain spot, properly swaddled,I'm sure when the toddler years come he's gonna be that T-rex Lou was exactly the same,Liz,cute Logan got his little tooth was thinking about you and I the other day and how we're so blessed, makes it harder to understand why we would ever want to drink,I know that I need to be healthy and straight for my family just cuz I never know when they'll need me,of course I need it for myself but after my last drinkfest 2 days after I sobered up Kell started bleeding super heavy and was so worried she went to the e.r in the evening and needed me to watch the boys and I did for hours,I could not have been there for her if I was loaded,I'd have painted it off on someone else or she would have had to leave her boyfriend at home and drive herself,,no bueno! I just need a better plan I think, pissed cuz I was on a roll with my quit Rusty,I'm so glad your mom is happy, helps you to feel better about the situation,Glassy, yep little ones cannot leave clean glass alone! I think it irritates them so they feel a deep need to muck it up haha,hi Bird Bradys 20 today,,I feel old can't believe time flies, much love and have a wonderful AF Monday!!!
I have too much shit to do today and tomorrow to drink:sohappy:

I'm taking care of the "tomorrow me"
Drinkin won't help a damn thing! Will only make me sick for DAYS and that ugly, spacey dumb feeling-no thanks!

Hi all,
I had a wonderful weekend with my kids. The play was very good, and we went out to a pizza place with their boyfriends, nice guys. Spring break starts this weekend so I am taking them to a cabin for a couple of days up in the mountains. I am very excited about that......Nora, glad you took some time for yourself. I need a haircut myself......Glassie, I remember Rags. I talked with her on skype once or twice.....dill, I can't see the pic.....Rusty, I may move into his house for a time. Will probably sell it though and move on.... Lizann..in answer to your question..my dd1 never said anything about my drinking, but my dd2 used to get very angry about it in her early teens. She would say mean things to me when I was drinking and think I wouldn't remember it, but I did, so that was tough....anyway, when they got a bit older and saw I was trying many different things to quit, they are supportive now and helpful...I try not to drink when they are home though.....b

Good evening friends. Hope your Monday was great.
Pauly, thanks for your comment about being sober for the kids. They need us to be there for them, sober and reliable! I hope Kelly is ok! Happy birthday Brady!

Bird a cabin for a few days with the kids sounds wonderful. It's not warm right now here, but I wouldn't care. How nice to sit in front of a fire.

Nora, I read your post on your forum. I am sorry about the job and your brother. Venting is very therapeutic. Hope things get better work and your mom too. Daddy had a good night last night and mom was in a better mood today too.

Glassie how sweet with the glass and HRH! My FIL loved when we visited in Florida and hated to clean the hand prints off the glass doors. It took me back.

Rusty, glad you're working from home. Sometimes I wish I could.

My day was super busy. Mark took me to work and picked me up cuz of some car trouble. So convenient. He literally drives right by where I work and our hours just clicked today. Just another little perk. We had another luncheon at work! At this rate, this could call for a new wardrobe. I must slow down.

Waves to everyone else and wishing us all a quiet AF night.

Hello everyone!

We are watching Travelers - we are on Season 2. We are hooked. Wonder what we'll move on to after we finish this season. LOL We don't watch much television but we do have fun watching some of the Netflix series together.

Well - I'll try to get back later.

Good Morning, Steppers!:heartbeat:

Happy to be home again and it is supposed to be beautiful here....sunny and 51 degrees! Yahoo!!! If it would only last....um....we are not done with winter yet. :-(

Glassie-that is so cool that Rags is going to teach you how to scuba dive! :yay: I do remember her from the Undies thread. Great person. You mentioned last week that there was some of a task force that would be convening and you were asked to be part of it but you were not happy about it. What is it exactly, and were you unhappy about it because of the time commitment?

Liz-sorry to hear your dad had a bad day. It is so hard to see our parents' declining health. So glad that Logan's tooth is official. :-)

Pauly-I can't believe Brady is 20 already...wow, when did that happen? LOL. Time passes so quickly, doesn't it?

bird-so glad you had a fun time with your kids. I am happy for you.

dill-thank you for posting a pic that gives us hope that Spring/Summer are on the way.:happy2: I owe you a PM, but I wanted to tell you that Mom and I
officially registered at the new church we've been going to that is near her apartment. We just love the people there. Everyone has been SO friendly...much friendlier than the people at my church or her old church. I am volunteering at the fish fry this Friday. How have you been?

Nora-this is so wild...after you posted about your brother and his rant on FB, I had a dream about you that night! I was the consultant at your company, and when I asked what department you were in, you said "Shipping and Receiving." Hahah! We did end up having some laughs, though.

Big hellos to abcowboy, Mr Vervill, techie, actiongirl46, and anyone I missed...Happy AF Tuesday!

Pauly, I don't know. Have tried many things over the yrs including Rx. Trazadone in my late 30's early 40's was bad for me. But, it does help some people!.. Appreciate SK's advice. She cares!..

Went to bed at 9:30, been awake since 2:30 approx. Truth is : Lav is right!.. As you age you'll never sleep like in your youth. Don't think you've crossed that bridge yet, (totality), but when u do it will be a blessing of sorts. When u get to the other side of menoP. Time.. I know, know Im sorry!!!!..

Have used booze to help when it gets bad. Alcohol is just an RX for me. Understand. A bad one for me!......Sigh... If your alcoholic. Not everyone is.. You'll determine this.

Try, your cell there many good free apps.. Soothing ones to relax your Loving ~ Mama's mind. Water ones help me. Relics a mothers womb. Breathing techniques. Visualations with nature. I also sleep with a small fan next to me. I'm hot so much, then cold, but its the sound of the fan that helps. Mama's water belly. Blocks out white noise. Essential oils. No sugar or caffine (cut off x).

You've been thru a lot since a young age. Tough woman!.. But, you don't have to be so tough 24 x 7 lady. Say NO...... Tell them to go away, just once or twice a wk... It will be ok.... They know how to cook. Keep pushing their independance.

Your walk, when the wind softly brushed your cheek was his kiss. Your Brother is ok!...

Next x u think a loved one is leaving this realm, talk to them about a sign that u both agree upon. Their spirit of energy, their love for you, will let u know their OK. Until the great day. When all is well, with everyone and everything...

Mine was with my Mom and pennies. Nora's dad: She heard the bells ringing. If she speaks with her Mom about this, it may be the same..

Crap, almost burnt my costumers food.. Have to run.

Your hair is: and will be always awesome!... I permed mine bk in Nov. What the hell was I thinking... :nutso: Long spiral wrap. The barometic pressure is having a field day. LOL or cry... It will look great by baby bears wedding. I hope... Or, or.. Dream of cutting short, coloring red-purplish. Some of our customers have hardly any hair. They think mine is pretty. Grateful, I am... They r such old souls, some of my best ~ spirit teachers.. Yet, many of them r so young!....

Hope you move to a different salon.. You got talent girl... You got the looks. Rock it Pauly!...

Hope you have a sweet day, Steppers.

Edited to add: Many people talk of magnesium as a sleep aid or muscle relaxer. That's great for many. However, it's not for everyone. Any diabetic, kidney, low potassium, etc. Please have your Dr, ND, NP order labs.

Rusty - I agree with Pauly. You do sound chipper! I'm glad that things are working out well for your Mom. How fun that you are volunteering at the fish fry. I laughed at your dream. I do wear many hats so shipping & receiving could be one of them. LOL

Wildflowers - good to see you. Oh - I can remember getting one or two perms. I should have learned after the first one. LOL

Pauly - I'm so sorry about your sleep. My hubby has major sleep issues. He actually is on a couple different prescriptions. He usually wakes up at around midnight and takes a Temazepam. Have you tried CBD Oil? I don't remember if you said you had tried it. I am actually looking into it right now because I've heard that it helps with the fibromyalgia pain. I'll let you know how it goes. Hubby said that he was going to try it too.

Liz - how is work? How are things going at home? I'm glad that your Dad had a better day.

Bird - how far is it to where your girls are in school? Do they live in a dorm? Are they roommates?

Techie - sending you love and positive energy :heartbeat:

HI guys. Hubby and I are watching Married at First Sight. It's really the only night I dominate the tv and he's entertained by it, lol.

Pauly once you cross over to the other side of the change, I think sleep will get better. It did for me. I would do planks on the floor next to bed when I couldn't sleep, I took Dramamine, I I tried Black cohosh. I can't say anyone of them worked 100% but it's worth a shot. With all those planks I looked buff albeit sleepy..

Rusty, we are getting that weather here too, yay! It's almost March.

Wildflower, you had me laughing with the hair. When is the wedding.

Waves to everyone and have a good AF night!
