      Funny Arsey - the only place I've ever seen porridge being served with a bottle of whisky sitting beside it in a hotel was in Scotland... can't say it would have ever tempted me much mind -

      Home improvement and Joe???? haha -- mind you - he is just after fixing the cutlery basket in the dishwasher - so he's forgiven

        The Beast from the East ( Siberian weather) will meet Storm Emma from the South - so MAD weather. Unprecedented, HUGE , batten down the hatches - close down the country.
        And that is what they have done. From 4pm today - no-one is allowed out :hahaha:

        Will hit the South of Engerland & ALL of Ireland - don't think it'll make it to Noooocastle Jacks.

          Its being rumoured that you can't get into casualty because of the dozens of Geordie lasses are beside themselves because their false tan has streaked.

            Ha ha, Jesus we will all end up barking mad if this storm does not come and go soon. Joe’s clone is wandering around the garden right now with hot water. Like you Molly I’m beside pot bellied stove, crocheting and listening to Joe Duffy. (Moaney radio show for those of you across the pond). I was dragged out earlier. He wanted to stock up on healthy oat biscuits!

            Mind you roads were all clear, kids were having a ball. Tesco closing at 2 and there was a real holiday feel to it. Did me good to get out,he drove.

                Oops, still In last month this morning..
                Another Neanderthal here has prepared for Armageddon, zombie apocalypse or a nuclear war. What ever happens next, we are READY.
                (They secretly love it).

                The kids are having a ball - all being summonsed in now, as curfew gets closer...... (insert scary piano music).

                      Mr S decided this crises had to be met with 9.30 mass ( ? ) Sliced White bread ( he never eats it normally) / rashers & sausages and stew ........
                      I made a healthy loaf with almond flour - discovered my inner domestic goddess due to boredom.

                          Thanks lovely Nora!! but yeah -- STILL not a lot happening.... haha -- as I said that - a gust of wind nearly blew a tree sideways in the garden..

                          yeah it was such a treat to have a day off today for NOTHING -- made lasagne - which was delish - lovely proper good salad to go with it.. and now we are tucking into bars of fruit and nut --- as you do.. cos it's cold - and windy... and YES Benjy --- succumbed to a pan of Brennans --- jaysus - haven't bought one for about 20 years.. it's good fun really -- incredible to be TOLD to do nothing

                                It's sort of like post-apocalyptic... went for a trudge to asda for milk to find hardly a single car on the road, but the roads had smatterings of people trudging along it - paths canny be seen for the ice tundra - as blizzards blew the snow sideyways at high gusts. Sort of like a scene from The Frozen Dead (if there were such a TV series) :haha:

                                My folks are down right mad. They live in Perth and decided to travel to Aberdeen yesterday for a very important event that they were more than determined to attend. Even despite the trains being cancelled they got into their car DESPITE ALL THE WARNINGS and drove to the Granite City. Now, that was the easy part. Cos it wasn't so bad a drive... but then they had to drive back late this afternoon and apparently the second half of the journey was nail-biting-are-we-gonna-ever-get-home-canny-see-for-the-driving-snow... Phoned them at 7 - they're back. Dad needed a stiff whisky :haha:
