I know a fella here who is 46. He's an alkie and lives in an aged care nursing home. The booze is likely responsible for his health issues. He works part time when he can, has 2 teenage kids, and currently trying to give up the grog. He is visibly an unwell man. You can see very obviously that his only hope for a few more years on the planet is to totally abstain from the sauce. 46 ain't old. Then i think about our younger folk in their 20's and 30's who are in serious trouble with liver/health issues already in their young lives. Christ! I am a lucky one.

That's tragic and you're right we are the lucky ones.......

Little bird told me you're off to South America........the S&H was there when he was 17 on a school trip for a month in Costa Rica and loved it.......helping save turtles and build a new school. I was a bit wary at first .......then found out Costa Rica doesn't have an army and on the whole pretty safe for incomers. Doubt you'd have time to see it but keep in your back pocket for the next time.......

So it got to 7pm having got home, ate summat then did an hour or sos work inc' one of 6 q's in a job application (they are long and arduous)... and by 7 I felt like i could physically collapse. So gave up, ate more, watched TV and now getting myself together before bed.

This is a boring post.

Got easter holibags planned - will spend two-thirds writing stuff for my masters and one-third in Brighton seeing my niece. Will be good to see her cos not since xmas and she's grown loads and has also grown an attitude:

MUM: Maisie, are you going to tidy up your toys?
MAISE: no.
MUM: But who brought all the toys out?
MAISIE: (Looking shifty) Mmmm...mmmmaai.... mummy.
MUM: Mummy took all the toys out?
MAISIE: (Still looking shifty)...Yyyeesss?
MUM: Yes? (Maisie nods self-consciously) So, what, mummy has to put them away?
MAISIE: (smiles and nods) Mummy tidy up.
MUM: But didn't Maisie bring the toys out? Not mummy.
MAISIE: ...Nnn-no.... Mummy tidy up now.
MUM: But Mummy didn't bring out Maisie's toys.
MAISIE: Tidy up now, Mummy
MUM: Oh, I don;t know if I should if I didn;t make the mess.
MAISIE: I said 3 times now, tidy up Mummy!
MUM: Shall we do it together?
MAISIE: (Looks guilty)... Ok...

Maybe I should count blessings I don't have sprogs of my own :haha:

Yea Molly, lot to be said for it. Last weekend gave me a taste of it and thoroughly enjoyed it. Probably won’t get to check in again until next week. Daughter going into hospital for small procedure tomorrow so will be with her all day. We are heading west in the evening . No WiFi in cottage and am useless on phone. Lots of hiking and crocheting planned so not worried about drinking. Have a lovely Easter everyone.

One single bed available at the cottage......en-suite I think but you could use our bath if himself's not in it..

Morning all - jaysus it's a feast or a famine round these parts -- so many missing - and yeah - guessing mostly not just busy. We are here - regardless of where you are - we've all relapsed - we've all scurried or slunk back here tail between legs -- prolly NO ONE more than me -- so - yeah - we are here... always xx

Busy morning and now going into a mad day I suspect - library will be closed till Tuesday so every little darling under the planet will need their Peppa Pig books -- oh so bitter and twisted and so young:welldone: (love the little darlings achully - sometimes it's the mammies can be more of a trial!!!)

Morning Army Soldiers...day 42

Feast or Famine seems to apply to a lot of things in life. I'm here daily. I've been busy with some new things and trying to feel better. I'll see the GP doctor next Tuesday and had my last oral visit this week. I do a daily post in the nest and some wandering here and there, but I try not to get too many threads going. It's a new way of living for me. Don't take on so much and overstretch yourself to where AL seems like your best friend.

You wouldn't think people would be grouchy or nasty in a library. Interesting...libraries make me happy. So much to learn.

Evening all.
Had a jolly little day today.
Went & got my bloods done in Dublin. ( I think my DNA is in every test tube in every clinic in Ireland at this stage ) and there's still nothing wrong with me :haha:
Then to Naas to renew my licence then for early-bird dinner with Mr S ..... yummy it was. mmmm
