Re: Join up! Army against the grog!!! March 2018

Tough one arsey - it's like well what we are grown up for - mixing gut/common sense/realism .... Would it be possible to put out all the feelers and see what's actually available to you? See is there a group in the other place that may replace what you have? We all love our comfort zone but remember one bad egg could arrive and spoil what you have ....? Maybe with all the possible options laid out clearly in front of you - then you can go with your gut - to me gut/heart is probably the best indicator providing it isn't based on duff information - get the options - just my opinion - and a new adventure can be great too!!!!

Edit: apply for all the jobs - you don't have to take them

      Morning..
      big thaw has begun.

Good post Molly. I would agree 100%.. you don’t necessarily need to be excited about getting up for work every morning RC, but you do need some level of enjoyment, fulfilment, even comradely. It’s the possibilities that new opportunities bring.. you sound excited already just thinking about it.

Better get moving... busy day, but no hangover to drag me down. Bring it on

On the question about being ‘drawn’.. well you could spend your life thinking about this one. I am ‘drawn’ to making cakes all day, going for long walks (short runs!) and listening to the radio. But that’s not going to pay then bills. I also thing there are other careers I could have enjoyed, been good at and maybe more fulfilled, but That won’t pay the bills.
A big factor I think is who you work for and your colleagues. Get that bit right and I really do think the rest will fall into place. So maybe get I touch with a few teachers from the new school and get a feel for the place. If the principle is solid, you could be on a winner.

SO WISE -- AND SO YOUNG!!!! Agree entirely -- the big picture can look wonderful and some fecker on the ground can screw the whole thing up -- - it's the little things
tbh - I do love my job - however an irritable loud person came to the branch about 6 months ago - and these days - well some days I just tell myself - 'I'll put in the hours and get paid at the end of the fortnight' - and other days I go in and I'm happy out among friends....

She just said he was nice........I've said nothing like ........its too soon, give yourself a break because she'll not take a blind bit of notice of me so I just give nice beige responses.

              I'm tired.
It could be worse, I could be filing.

At least ours are polite to their elders, don't spit in the street and don't drop litter.

Evening all. Exhausted, dug out both cars today so all set for the morning. Our road was ploughed yesterday so will get to work tomorrow. We never lost power so have been very lucky.

Need to have a read back, hope you all had a great weekend.

                                Evening troops

Thanks for the advice on the job front - appreciated. Spoke to me folks too - just good to talk (as Bob Hoskins would say)... so basically my strongest pull is the social aspect of my life... which if i move (again) i;d have to build (again) and actually now that i think of it, this is probably the first time in quite a long time that i had some semblance of a social life (i.e. the am dram group) beyond teaching...

Weather report: We're at 1 degree. Drizzly rain, though more slushy snow forecast, but it's nothing - all the temp forecasts are on the rise, so that's the worst of the beast away. Yes, now the floods... There's been mega snow drifts everywhere and I was thinking this morning as i ran past a few, that that is a lot of frozen water and where's it all going to go when it does melt?! :egad: Better build myself an ark :haha:

So, back to work. Ho hum... but as much as the downtime was welcome, it'll be good to just get back into the swing of working, even if it feels non-stop... it does make days off/holidays much more meaningful/appreciative. Only 4 weeks left now til Easter
