Re: Join up! Army against the grog!!! March 2018
Just popped in for a read and to say good night.
So right Stirly on people doing things to make themselves feel good..
Im absorbing all the chat today about young Satz, always find these conversations still so relevant for myself. And no doubt, there will be someone else reading it who's struggling.
One thing, when you do reach that moment that you absolutely loath drinking, loath that part of you.. and you've decided you're going to fight with every fiber of your body to break free.. its a massive relief.AF - July 19th 2015 :happy2:

Good afternoon. Fascinating posts I do think you are such an encouraging, wise group of people--I always gain something from reading here.
Been out for a 17 mile run in the sunshine this morning--had to take walk breaks all the time. I knew old age was coming but I never realised it would happen this fast as I get so tired these days.So grateful that in my 70's I can do this as I was on a very slippery slope. Starving now!

I had to smile at that. You ran 17 miles and then give out that you are tired. :haha:
70 is NOT old and you are fitter than most 40 year olds I know - age is but a number - so don't let that thought take over....... no no no !!

Thanks Satz put things into perspective. I just keep comparing my stamina to a year ago (when I was 70).
I do honestly feel thankful for what I can do. Be great if young Satz could find his way out through running although it is bit obsessive, drink only gets in the way.
I do hope you are feeling okay.

Our Whizzy, you've certainly got more energy than I had at 40 although I could go from 0 to 60mph if I heard a cork being pulled. It was this hotel we stayed at.........Hotel Dublin Airport | Dublin Airport Hotel | Hotels by Dublin Airport
How's the rest of yis?It could be worse, I could be filing.

I see a few 70yr old runners at the hill races - they may be slower, but jeez, they are SO fit for their age.

And yes, running is obsessive... although a tad worried about my right hip after Saturday's long run...
Evening all, hope yis are grand. Not much to report from this side. Just working, prepping and eating far too many salty pretzels...

Good morning--Lovely to wake up to sunshine and blue skies. Thanks for positive posts re age stuff
--RC when I had hip pain after long runs doing ITB stretches really helped (RC will know what I am talking about!)
Great not to have the complication of a hangover each morning--always thankful to you Army lot.
Off for a little recovery walk.
