Re: Join up! Army against the grog!!! March 2018
And I'm still KNACKERED.....
I got what I suppose was flu and feel wiped out .
Sleeping 10 hours at night and not in any hurry to get up and face the day.
I hate being under par - reminds me of the bad old days.

Re: Join up! Army against the grog!!! March 2018
Just reading the connection between flu & depression.
Apparently it is a 'thing' ........ thank feck.
I've been feeling very low, sleeping for hours and not wanting to leave the house.
Can't think of anything to do that will give me joy - but nothing does.
So God bless Google - this is normal after a body has been fighting infection and will leave once I get better

satz123, on top of your troubles its been a crap winter too........smiling when it doesn't reach your eyes about how pretty the landscape looks, isn't it nice sitting indoors in yer jammes gets old.........try and get through this with out the doctor..........taking anti-depresents is a last chance thing.......and if I'm entirely honest I'm begining to think they don't do much anyway. I suppose the doctor just chucks them at you so you don't wander off and jump of a bridge...Last edited by JackieClaire; March 22, 2018, 06:11 AM.It could be worse, I could be filing.

Satz it is completely normal to feel wiped out and depressed with and post flu. The symptoms do get better after you get past the post viral stage which should be happening about now!! You could certainly do without this on top of all the drama with young Satz XXX

Well done Anon and RC on your running. Hubby has gotten back into it and it is addictive but so good for you. I never liked it but enjoy my walks and the hill walking so feel I am doing something. Talking about doing something I’m off on a crochet weekend with the ladies from my class. The Irish ladies will have heard of it, ICA house in Termonfeckin 😄😄. It’s got an Irish name but can’t remember it. Not sure if I’ll have WiFi but will fill you in when I get back.

An Grianán Rusters -- not far from me actually - and my SIL lives in Termonfeckin so well familiar with it - hope you have a smashing time - my mum used to go there - she was big into flower arranging - was going to go into business with it at one stage...anyway must have dinner - then back to the snag list:buried:Contentedly sober since 27/12/2011

Re: Join up! Army against the grog!!! March 2018
Morning - -- gone quiet again here -- either we're all happy as shit or sitting at home licking our woundstbh I'm doing a bit of wound licking myself - bit of family trouble - don't really want to talk about it -- yet - it's still at the stage if I don't talk or think about it - it might go away -- so lets keep the thread alive for the folks that maybe are about that even if they don't want to talk - maybe they want to read.... ya know?? It would be lovely to keep in touch with them all Jacks - my experience is that I'm a bit 'out of sight out of mind' with people - best intentions and all but...... but then -- that's just me!!!! out to plant some seeds right now xx

Good morning--Sorry about your family troubles Molly and thank you for helping keep the thread alive.
We are always grateful for words of wisdom on here.
Still in bed I have never stayed asleep for so long--Only woke up at 9 am. It is a nice feeling that I do not have to make myself get up early to search for the hidden empties and wrap them up in a plastic bag (so as not to make a noise when the bins get emptied) and dispose of said bottles. I think you have to be an alkie to enjoy the freedom when this behaviour stops--- Better get up as I have never had such a long lie in!

Morning lovelies,
Molls, darling, you know where I am and IamMary where is you???
Just got up about 11am. Haven't slept so long since before Christmas.......do you think we're just soooooooooooo tired of winter.
We're off here in April ........Buttercup Cottage (ref
W244) in
Tosside, near Settle, Yorkshire |
cottages.com and it can't come soon enough.
Tonight we're off to see Julius Caesar at the cinema........its one of those that streams live from the theatre. Readin the reviews its supposed to proper gory.
Oh our Whizzy, there's days I used to clank up to Tesco's recycling bin with a couple of carrier bags full of bottles and pray that I didn't bump into anyone I knew.........just so our bin men didn't think there was an alkie in our house.........in fact while I'm being honest I just run out to the neareast litter bin and chucked a few in there. It could be worse, I could be filing.

Re: Join up! Army against the grog!!! March 2018
Afternoon all. Not having to get rid of bottles or hide is something else I never tire of. That and early unhungover weekend mornings.
JC and Anon you both must have needed the sleep. Your bodies will feel all the better for it. Love the cottage JC. We are going west for Easter but cottage not near as nice. Himself is fishing so the criteria was that it was on a lake. Change of scene and we can bring the doggies. I’m going hill walking on the Sunday. Don’t think the weather promised great but good to get away. Sorry about the family drama Molly, par for the course when you have kids.
Shout out to all those MIA. Please check in, no judgement and may help you get back on track. Lots of great advice and support.

:checkin:
Am here Doc, Molls JC, whizzy and the rest of yis. Long day - Parents night at one of the schools... not that I had to meet any parents but just to show face and support... would much prefer talking to parents cos it was SOOOOOO boring....
So, tired and heading to leaba.
Whizzy - as much as I love waking up clear headed I wish I could start lying in a bit and not immediately jumping out of bed to run or do work. Affects me in the evenings - so very tired. And part of it comes from running and part of it comes from not drinking... was thinking of doing a wholesale change and trying to run I'm evenings and see of i can sleep a little longer... dunno... just thinking out loud.
One more day at the school of dread and then... 2 happy days
See youse on the flip side

I was at Julius Caesar, dahlings. Very, very, very good. Who would have thought after a squillion years of hating Shakespeare I'd finally grow into it.
Our Satzuma, have you thought of a mood diary... Like is it just an all day malaise or are there lows and highs. Just a thought. It could be worse, I could be filing.
