Schools out for Easter!

Just a job app, some writing for my research and a serious spring clean of my flat and car (fecking dumps they both are) now top of to do list.

Hope yis all well. Rustles - hope the wee procedure for your daughter goes smoothly.

Molls - thanks for that post, feast and famine. Means a lot. I was SO tempted to drink last weekend at my folks. Didn't, but ... well ... just very aware of my thinking. I say aware, not that I necessarily understand what i'm thinking or why i'm thinking!

back in work today, felt a bit like you Molly, quietly closing the door behind me. Love them dearly, but nice to think outside of cleaning, the next meal and keeping the peace.
RC our primary schools were out since early on Friday. You need to get yourself a job in these parts, a couple of summers in the gaeltacht and your be sorted!

Evening all, been guilty of Mia too, please put me in the very busy camp. Trying to get lots of stuff sorted and out of the way in time for my new job next week. Gas, I got an email yesterday from the MD of one of the other companies I applied to (3 in total only) inviting me to ring him on his personal number to arrange an interview. I would never have guessed I would be turning down an opportunity just a couple of weeks back when work wise was looking bleak. I should have known better, for experience has taught me never to say never and don't be surprised what life can throw at us, both good or bad.

Morning folks, so Good Friday and the pubs are open for the first time since 1927, I did wonder why, when at the supermarket last night, the trolled weren't full of booze as per every other year. Interesting to see if people go a bit overboard now they can drink or will it be a case of not bothered now it's just like every other day here.

Our pubs used to go to Sunday opening hours over Easter......open a couple of hours over lunch and the 7-10pm. No holds barred these days.......All the shops are closed here Easter Sunday.

Too true, Molls, feast or famine.
Had a look-see at Hobbycraft and came away with six balls of yarn and a present for the S&H's 30th birthday in June..........a build your own moon rocket in cardboard with free crayons and free cardboard helmet.......for ages 4+. It'll look lovely next to his cardboard tank we got him last year. Shoved Mr JC out with the lad next door.

Bitter sweet day. Four years ago today since my Granny died. I love her.

Young Satz was drinking last night - wine in his room - I know it - he denies it naturally.
He's gone to bed now which is a sign he was drinking earlier ............ while I was at work - or perhaps just hungover.
Mr S says he's bored to tears - but feck it - find something to do FFS !!

Forgot about the pubs being open today - probably the supermarkets that suffered most, no end of the world, booze trolley dashes.. I remember that, doing the 'big shop' Thursday night, stocking up for 2 days but no more because it would look sooooo bad.

Is he talking much about it [MENTION=9094]satz123[/MENTION]... plans, work, future, his drinking? He probably is bored to distraction, but like the booze, he has to fix that himself. That One Year no Beer site (you posted about it before), looks very bloke/fitness focused. I know it will fall on deaf ears until hes ready/desperate.

[MENTION=9094]satz123[/MENTION].....my nana used to say only boring people get bored...........if he can't get a job he can volunteer. Gets him out of the house and looks good on a CV. He's going on 40 not 14......it makes be terribly sad and mad at the same time.

Off to take Bess to the vets........she needs a wee check up, her muscle meds and her xanax (for the car journey on our holiday). Sadly, very sadly she's getting very old and the time is not far off when we'll be Bess-less.

Bess is fine.......bit of an ear problem and down to me to clean them three times a week.............I'm so lucky. Got the xanax.........just two and tbh was hoping she'd get more so we could share

Had a bit of a chat with Jenny, who is sounding good.........she's off to watch her pal box in a lady's bout tonight. Buddy has started howling at the washing machine when its on a spin.........all very mundane stuff but such is my life.

Sorry been MIA had a bit of a crisis with husband who developed excruciating pain in his back and lower abdomen. Had to take him to A&E in the middle of the night where they were wonderful they thought he probably had renal stones but spent ages checking for am aortic aneurysm with special scan. They did loads of other stuff making sure they had not missed anything else thank goodness for the NHS. However, the Xray showed stones in Kidney and bladder hence the excruciating pain. He is home now as is my Norwegian daughter so busy as rest of family calling in.

Bloody hell Satz it was great to see you enjoying being out and about but you must be so fed up with his shenanigans --Get him out running???

Poor old Bess I am also getting slower and more tired as I have got older.

Well fancy you being in such great demand Tabbers--Must give you a lift and so good for your self esteem

RC I am really struggling with the long runs but hope to see you in London?
