Re: One Step at a Time - April 2018

Nora, I love how you're into those old movies. Glad your son got his traveling in before settling down. It sure gets expensive with a family

Bird, I hope the frog is ok! Part time temporary work doesn't sound too bad. There is a light at the end of the tunnel. That property sounds interesting, worth looking into further?

Pauly, you sound thrilled to have to go to work, lol. Maybe we'll hit the lottery, huh?

Still cold and rainy here today. Just plain dreary. Need me some vitamin D, one way or another. I think Logan finally feel asleep! Time to get some stuff done while he sleeps! Have a good one guys

Hey all
Nora and Liz I'm sorry to hear you both have tough decisions to make about your parents. I'm sure you'll both make the right decisions.

I had to take the eldest kids and HRH to the airport at 4am. The little one was so funny. She's starting to talk a lot now and was very excited to be going on a 'venture. They're going to New Zealand for a week but had to take so much stuff it looked like they were going for 6 months. Funny how one such little person can need so much equipment!

Hi all - long day today so just a quick hello. Worked late.
Poor frog. Our cat has caught frogs before too. He got a lizard last week. It didn't make it either.
Glassie - so cute about HRH on her 'venture.
Catch you all tomorrow.

Oh Bird - that is really sad if the frog has been visiting you every year. Nature is so cruel sometimes!

bird, so sad about the frog. I'm sure you'll have a lovely weekend with the kids. How nice you get to enjoy their performances. Sounds like s busy weekend.

@Glasshalfempty, those 4 am treks to the airport are not fun! I am not an earlier riser but sounds like HRH is. How cute she sounds.

Dad has a doctors appointment today. My sister is going with them. We have talked some about what we should do now. Sissy will run somethings by mom and we shall go from there. We are hoping that some medication adjustments will help too. Logan came by this morning and he was so tired. Not sure what that's about. Gave him a bottle and he went right down for a nap. Well I'm off . Hope you all have a great Friday!

Morning friends,Bird, have a nice visit Liz,I freak out too when the kids seem"too tired" I'm such a worry wort but it turned out to be true last month with Lou cuz he took a nap...he never naps and that week he got a slight cold,Romeos getting big, nearly 17 lbs,I'll be buff Nan I had them in the afternoon yesterday cuz Kell had to take her bf to get an MRI,he was riding his bike when he was 9 and hit a tree so he has a plate in his head and limited vision and the docs think they can fix the vision but might also need to replace the plate cuz he's an adult and that plate probably isn't big enough I guess, they had to give him Valium cuz he freaked out last MRI,he was so loopy when they picked up the boys haha,Liz,keep us posted on what the docs say about your dad,Rusty, workin today? Hi Glassy Nora, you guys getting the wind again? It got cold overnight and I kept waking up freezing but its supposed to be warm today,we'll see, much love and wishes for a nice AF Fryday for us all

Hi All,

In a rush so a quick fly by today. Yes, working a bit and then leaving for my mom's in a little while. My handyman was here and he hung a big mirror and a few pictures for me this morning. He is coming back tomorrow to install a new ceiling fan and the new chandelier for the dining room.
bird-I am a manufacturing auditor (not finances) and quality management consultant. I never intended to get into this field. I went to college and graduate school for journalism...LOL. Sorry about the frog. :0( Enjoy the performance tonight. I hope the drive is not too far for you.

Liz:hug:I hope you and your siblings and mom are on the same page regarding your dad's care.

Glassie-loved the story about little HRH and her "venture."

Pauly-what are you up to today? Wow, that's scary about Lou. Sounds like really delicate surgery.

Nora-do you have any fun plans for the weekend?

Big hellos to everyone I missed. Happy POETS' Day!

So just got back from a lovely dinner with my twin and 2 other mutual friends. Sissy and I walked the downtown Main Street after dinner and it was freezing tonight. Nice brisk walk, though. Sissy is having a hard time with her 22 year old adopted daughter. Her Hubby is finally on board and they had a talk with her last night. So sissy had lots to talk about. It's a difficult situation but I hope this helps her move in a more positive direction. My older sister sent me a very long email. It's all good right now. So the doctor changed dads one medication see if that helps. He is hooking us up with a social worker to help us muddle through this. We have some resources currently available to look into. My moms cleaning lady, who mom knows and trusts would be willing to help mom with bathing and dressing him. She would even be willing to help out at night if need be occasionally. Sissy, hubby and I would be willing to stay over alternating nights too. We have decided to try some of these smaller steps before even considering s nursing home. Lots to talk about and decide, but so very grateful for the plethora of information available. Feeling positive tonight for the first time in a long time. Just thought I'd let you know how it went.
Wishing you all a great AF Friday night.

Hi all,
I had a wonderful time yesterday. Lunch with dd1 and her bf. Dinner with both dds and both boyfriends. Then percussion ensemble was so good. DD2 says she may not take percussion ensemble next year, which makes me very sad, but I didn't say anything. She was a percussion major at first, then switched. I never really understood what happened. Anyway, she was all smiles last night, and her bf and I helped put the instruments away afterwards. She was the last one out, just like when she was in high school. I just soaked it all in, just in case she doesn't do it anymore....so I am heading out to a state park for a hike and look at a couple properties. The kids will sleep until 1 or 2 so I have time for myself. Then tonight will be going to dd1s play........Liz, glad you are getting a plan going regarding your Dad.....Pauly 17 lbs huh? Growing growing!......Rusty, hope your mirror and all are looking beautiful....well I'm off.....b
