Ahh, my landlord is very drunk and sitting outside singing to the radio. I used to do that when I was a young drinker. It seemed like fun at the time.....so you're in Vegas Pauly? I have never been there....Rusty good luck on the paperwork......I am hoping my next job will be something rewarding, or at least something outdoors. Excited about going to see my kids this weekend. Very nice weather...

Glad you are going to have good weather to see the girls, Bird. How is your daughter feeling? Did she have her Doctor appointment already?
I guess, you just ignore your landlord while he's out there drunk? Yep, we all thought things were so much fun drunk. Not that much fun. For sure.
Rusty - did you get work done? LOL You stopped jumping in here so you must have gotten back to work. My son got a degree in kinesiology but did not pursue that. He is currently working at an SEO company. Been doing a little bit of everything I think in that office; blogging, articles, marketing, etc. To be quite honest, he is never going to be happy working for someone else. His goal is to eventually have his own company.
Liz - were you off today? I guess it's that time of year for the allergies to hit. How long does the busy season last?
Pauly - It's not as windy here today. How's it there?
Well - I'll be back. The show Mom is on. I'm cracking up here :rotlf:"Only I can change my life. No one can do it for me.".....Carol Burnett

Re: One Step at a Time - April 2018
Hey guys. I lost a long post! Rusty, your weather sounds like here too. I hope you get your paper work done. It's hard to do what you don't want to do. NoraC seeing my husband, father and son in law, work for themselves, I can tell you it's not all it's cracked up to be. But you can't tell these kids anything. Allergy season will probably go through June and then start up again in September. Yes I was off today. It's a great schedule! bird, what kind of job would be your dream job? I'm sure you'll have a great time with your kids. So what did you do about your neighbor outside? Do you just let him be. Yes I know I've done odd things while drinking. I don't necessarily think I even did it for fun.
I had the pleasure of being with all three of mine today! We FaceTime CJ and Joe. They have made some real progress on the house! They're so excited and it's so cute seeing them like that. Mark worked from home this morning and he left for Paris this evening, for vacation! Wish I was going. Erin and Logan stayed for dinner as Dan is away on business, I was happy to be busy with all three of them and hubby of course too! Lucy scratched Logan on the side of his face accidentally. It's not too bad, but try and explain that to his mom. She was fine with it. Us grandparents need to be a bit more vigilant I think. I was changing his diaper on the floor and he was crying, Lucy playfully came over by him, ugh. Anyway that's my day. paulywogg and Rusty, the lazy river at the Monte Carlo does sound lovely right about now! I used my mug from there just today, it takes me back.
My sister sent me a bunch of info on nursing homes, home health aids and some other stuff to read. I just don't think it's a good idea for me to read it before bed. I will deal with it tomorrow. Praying we find some sort of help for them.
Hope you all have a good night.Last edited by Lizann; April 17, 2018, 09:24 PM.

I agree - don't read it before you go to bed, Liz. Sorry that Logan got scratched. It's hard to be everywhere at once. That's for sure.
Well - think I'm going to do a couple minutes of yoga. Have a great night all."Only I can change my life. No one can do it for me.".....Carol Burnett

Re: One Step at a Time - April 2018
Good Morning,
I did not finish all my tasks yesterday but much of it was due to my client's inability to find files on his computer. GRRR! Oh well.
Liz-don't overwhelm yourself with too much material on memory care, assisted-living facilities and home health care. Find those facilities that are close to you and tour them. You know enough that if a place smells of urine, etc. that you head for the door and cross the place off your list. Sorry to hear about little Logan getting scratched. So glad CJ and Joe are making progress on their house. Lucky Mark. I love Paris.
Nora-my cousin majored in kinesiology and it's useful if you go into sports medicine, phys. ed., etc., I guess I am A LOT like CJ. I had a very, very difficult time working for other people and being in an office. I could not stand the back stabbing, self-induced drama, etc., I've been in my current career 18 years and have worked out of my home the whole time...8 of those years I worked for someone and it worked out well because my boss was in another state. Hahah! I've owned my own business for 12 years now and although I have NEVER worked so hard in my life, it has been incredibly rewarding and honestly, if I were still working for someone else, I would make maybe 1/2 of what I am making now and there is no turning back for me.
bird-so glad you will see your kids this weekend. Drunken landlord singing...hmm...I bet not very well. :-(
Pauly-The Monte Carlo has changed ownership a few times. I wish we had more hotels here that have lazy river pools. ;-)
Well, I am off to the gym. Happy AF Wednesday!

Re: One Step at a Time - April 2018
Liz - really neat that you were able to 'chat' with all your kids. I'm so glad that you like your hours. That's great.
How long is Mark on vacation?
Pauly - how was your Wed? How are your beautiful boys? How is Brady doing?
Rusty - were you home today? Did your client get you the info?
J&C went to the hospital yesterday. Everything is ok. She was having a lot of pain in her side. The Dr thought she better get checked. Everything is ok. I guess it is just muscles stretching & tearing as she grows. I don't know exactly but everything is ok.
Not much going on here. I'll try to do something exciting so I have something to talk about."Only I can change my life. No one can do it for me.".....Carol Burnett

Oh Nora, glad everything thing is ok with J&C. Better to be on the safe side and have it checked out. I hope whatever the pain is, it eases up.
Rusty, I'm glad you enjoy working on your own! One of the draw backs is no paid vacation or sick time and then there's the whole health insurance thing and other benefits. I'm glad your business is doing so well! You do seem very dedicated!
Mark is in Paris for a week. He may be going to the Netherlands, too. He wasn't sure. Apparently there was a train strike there last week. Not sure if that has been resolved. I don't know if I was on here back then, but Mark studied abroad in Paris and it feels like home to him.
Hope everyone had a good hump day.

Liz - that's really cool that your kids are such travelers. I am not at all but my son is. I'm glad that he was able to do some traveling before settling down. But, I'm sure people travel all the time with children.
Have you ever seen Mildred Pierce with Joan Crawford? I've never seen it but it came on a few minutes ago and now of course I can't stop watching. You know me & the old movies LOL"Only I can change my life. No one can do it for me.".....Carol Burnett

Re: One Step at a Time - April 2018
Hi all,
Happy day to all. Nothing going on. Still packing stuff, and most things that I won't be using anytime soon are packed. Not looking forward to going through my tools, which will be the next thing. Lucky I cleaned and packed the shed last summer, so at least there is that finished. ....dd1 has had a few Dr. appts., a psychiatrist, thyroid, some bloodwork and gyno..glad she is getting some help and getting her meds changed up.......Nora, I haven't seen the movie. Ah, isn't yoga refreshing?........Lizann, idk what my dream job would be. I really like playing music outside but that is not a job is it? hahaha I did have a job teaching drums once that I liked but the pay was so bad. Good you get some facetime in, and Paris sounds wonderful! April in Paris lalalala...... Rusty...what kind of work do you do? I rarely hear of anyone happy in their job.....so I saw this campground/horse stable place for sale at a reasonable price. It has hiking trails, a swimming hole, and horseback riding, some rv spots and a house. I kinda wonder about that. It might be something I would like. It is in central Georgia......

Re: One Step at a Time - April 2018
So I have a baby pool out back that I keep minnows in. And rocks and seashells and snails. Anyway every spring a frog comes and stays there for a few weeks. Well my cat Bruno caught the frog! It is not dead and I put it back in the pool. It is just sitting there though.....I know Bruno is just doing his thing but...

Re: One Step at a Time - April 2018
So the bigwigs at work called me and said could I come in and build a shipping order....I said well, what happened? I thought Randy was going to take my place, but they said he won't be in for 2 weeks. Also did I want to work PT or just whenever I wanted to, so I said ok. I guess it's ok for now, idk. At least I know that Randy will be there in 2 weeks if I don't want to do the PT.....:eek-new:...so I guess I'm going in after lunch and work some.
