Re: One Step at a Time - April 2018

GOOD MORNING AND HAPPY SUNNY POETS'

At home today and the sun is shining...feels so good to see GREEN grass instead of brown!

Thank you everyone for the accolades on getting a new client. NoraC knows exactly what I do for a living and she gets how some of my clients frustrate me because they lie to me, and some of them are just plain boring...like the client I will be with next Tuesday and Wednesday. Nora, could we please just trade jobs for those two days??? LOL I hope today is a good day even though everyone is on vacation.
Mr Vervill-how long have you been sober? Is it around 6 months? Pop in and say HELLO!!

Liz-that picture of Logan on FB was SOOOOO cute! I laughed when you mentioned the grass...it's so fun to watch baby see and feel new things.
NoSugar-great to see you and what a success story about how you reversed your Type 2 diabetes...WOW!!!
paulywogg...Pauly-did you see the episode of "My 600 lb Life-Where Are They Now"? earlier this week. The show featured Melissa, who lost 500 lbs? I felt so badly for her because she put 100 lbs. back on due to stress-related eating. Oh, the similarities between food and AL are scary, aren't they? Dr. Now said that 95% of his patients get back up to 400 lbs. within 10 years of their surgery.:cuss: I hope the 2nd MRI will give Kell's bf some peace.
bird-what are you up to today?
NoraC-good luck at work today, and I hope it turns out better than you planned.

Glassie-we miss you but I know you are busy!
techie-I hope you feel energetic today.

Big hellos to anyone I missed. Happy AF Friday!

Re: One Step at a Time - April 2018

Hi friends and happy Friday. Nora I hope you got through your day ok. How could they let so many people off on the same day? Seems a bit unfair.
Bird, is there anything salvageable about that property. I suppose the land is valuable. Here where I live land is a rare commodity and therefore expensive. The older smaller homes are being sold, torn down and huge "McMansions" replace them. The lots are small. Such is life in a major metropolitan area. That's why CJ and Joe moved away, they can't afford anything here, sigh. . .
Rusty, sounds like a lovely day in your area. The thing I like about your job, is the variety. It seems it's always different even if some days are boring. Variety is the spice of life.
Pauly, where were you raised and how did you decide on Las Vegas? It's hard to get stuff done when the little ones are around. I felt like I did nothing today! I did take Lucy to get groomed, boy did she need it. They did her really quick because she is "older". There have been several deaths related to dogs in grooming salons, I guess they are being proactive?
Glassie, I miss you. I know your super busy, but I love when you pop in.
Anyway, I hope you all have a good AF night.

Rusty,I did see that episode and felt bad for her, especially with her ass husband situation! she still has made a lot of progress tho from where she was and I do see her losing her extra weight, she knows what to do Liz,I was born and raised in Northern Nevada but its farmer country up there,in the mountains with snow, very small town a complete opposite of Vegas,I didn't choose Vegas it kinda chose us,,we were living in Utah barely scraping by with 4 small kids, hubs spotted a plumbing job ad in the Vegas newspaper offering more money than we had ever made in our lives, took a day to come down, got hired and moved us down and here we are,,did try to escape (haha) a few times San Diego(I hated it) Reno(hated it) so came back,I'm sure if i tried to leave again I'd just come crawling back yet again,,think I'm just home I guess

Hi guys -

Bird - I'm really sorry about the beer. Glad you are back on track.

I'll be back tomorrow. Long day. Hospice came to get the equipment this evening. After that was picked up, we had to put the daybed together. Just got mom settled in bed and I'm going to chill.

Hey all
Oh Liz and Nora – my heart is breaking for you as always with your parent issues.

Rusty – well done on scoring that new client. I’m so glad you find your work rewarding.

Pauly – love the story of how you ended up where you are!

I’ve had a lot happening here – but not enough time to tell it. Work is crazy due to something that’s a long story unless you’re familiar with the Oz parliamentary system. But basically our department has split in two and I now have to set everything up for the HR function for our new one. But hey, that’s the joy of being a public servant, and at least I wangled my way off that ***** task force.

But, FAR more important than work, I will share that I’m a bit upset about my beautiful Bella cat. She’s nearly 16, and apart from thyroid issues was doing really well until about 6 months ago. But now she’s dealing with multiple health issues and to be honest I’m not sure how much longer she’ll be with me. Anyway, she’s on new medication today, which although making her slightly stoned, appears to be relieving her pain, so that’s good I guess.

Will try and check in tomorrow to tell you a funny story about HRH at the airport.

Glassie so sorry to hear about your kitty! They are members of our family. I'm glad the medicine has eased her pain. Sounds like lots going on at work. I'm glad you're off that task force. IMHO busy is good.

Pauly, thanks for you history. interesting to hear. My story is pretty boring, so it's nice to learn about living in other parts of these United Stated, or down under!

Nora, looks like you relaxed today. NIce! Your daughter in law is adorable with her belly! Did you feel the little one kicking too? Exciting!

BIrd and Rusty waves and hope you're doing ok. Have a great night!

Hi all,
Had kinda a crappy day yest cleaning in that house and some young guys came over and helped move some stuff out that the executor wanted. Anyway, the land its on is nice, 4 acres with a pond and creek, but I think I'll be lucky to get 50,000 out of it. Anyway...Glassie, sorry about your kitty..that is tough.......Paulie, I never meanty to live in Georgia for so long. I didn't want to raise my kids here, and tried to go back to Colorado a couple times, but it didn't work out. Been here on and off since 1978. And I still want to move. Well, back to the ol grind. The house is so dirty I have to wear a respirator.....b

Wow bird! Find any good treasures in there? Maybe he hid some cash?
Church this morning with a potluck, then we are going out to dinner with our neighbors this evening. A lot of eating in one day, so I image I will be on the treadmill at some point. It's cloudy and cool outside so I doubt I'll be able to walk outside. So hubby bought a stroller for us to keep here for the little guy! I'm pretty excited cuz that'll make life so much easier.
Hope you guys all enjoy your Sunday. What's everyone up to?

Hi everyone. I'm being LAZY today.

Bird - I'm sorry the house is so bad. I wonder if there are some hidden treasures in there.

Pauly - enjoy Denny's. I woke up before 6:00 this morning and BRIEFLY considered asking hubby if he wanted to sneak out to breakfast while Mom was asleep. Then, I thought better of it and went back to sleep. :rotlf:

Liz - that's so much easier to just have a stroller at your house. Hubby was just talking yesterday about the fact we better get some stuff for the baby for here.

Rusty - I guess you are at church with your Mom today. I hope you are having a great day.

Not planning on doing much today. I've been going thru more boxes. Finally getting to the point where I feel like I can start organizing it. It was overwhelming having 30 boxes of 'stuff' staring me in the face. But, I've really made progress. I'm to the point of a big box of letters. Priceless actually - letters my parents wrote each other. But, when I open that box, I get emotional. So, that box is done in little bits at a time.
I have certainly have such a blessed life. Wonderful memories popping up.

Mom was a bit restless yesterday so I had her come & sit outside in the back yard for a bit. It was a good day. She recognized a desk chair that I had brought home from Oregon & have in the garage. I was able to open up a box of the knick knacks I brought home. I could see her reaction to each one so I knew which ones meant something to her and bring those in the house. J&C came over and Mom really interacted with them. She even came over & sat next to them. It was a good day yesterday. And I got to feel the baby move. I'm in love. <3

I have to agree with Liz that it's interesting hearing about other peoples stories.
I was born in West Virginia and moved to California to the house I lived in until I moved out with my hubby.
We lived in an apartment and then moved to this house where we have lived for 40 years.
I don't get out much. :egad:

Edit - we moved out of this house when the landlords were going to sell it. We lived in a different house for about 6 months and then moved back to this house when they didn't sell it. So there was another place in the middle of there. :rotlf:

Good Morning!

Glassie:hug:how is your cat doing? It sucks when our four legged family members are sick! Are the meds helping at all? Wow, you sound busy...I am delighted you are off the task force. :-)

Pauly-I loved your story about how you ended up in Vegas. How come you didn't like San Diego? I was shocked to see how expensive it is to live in Utah! I never would have guessed it..but the mountains, etc...kind of like living in Colorado. Isn't it something that Prince William and Kate named their new baby Louis?:happy2:
bird-glad you are back on track. I know the clean up of your friend's house is overwhelming...which is probably why you drink. That's how I handled being overwhelmed for several years. :-( I hope you can get more $ than you expect for your friend's house.

Nora-you deserve to sleep in on the weekends and I am delighted that your mom was able to get outside and enjoy the warm weather. Delighted that you got to feel the baby move....oooohhhh.....the miracle of a new little life.

Liz-sounds like you have a fun day planned. Good idea with getting Logan a stroller for your house.

Mom and I had a good time at the Volunteers' Appreciation Dinner last night. My mom was honored along with a number of others for her volunteer work in serving the poor. It's so fun to see how people are just drawn to her. She is much loved. I just got back from Mom's and I have a boatload of work to do so I better get to it.

Happy AF Sunday (and Monday for you, @GlassHalfEmpty:hug to all!
