Now my brother lives in a teeny tiny village he bakes his own bread once a week. Actually, he's made his own bread for years just he's got time now he's retired.
Ach I'm going to celebrate birthdays.........these days its not for the pressies its just for the proof I'm still aliveIt could be worse, I could be filing.

Joe made wine and beer for yonks -- his strawberry wine was known in the region:applouse: I think it was about 50% proof -- he made it in 5 gallon containers! can only imagine where we'd have gone with that if we'd kept making it! As soon as our eldest became a teenager we stopped it altogether - ironically it was our kids we worried about - not ourselves - we were grand back then!Contentedly sober since 27/12/2011

Alas RC - there was drama.
Young Satz drinking to celebrate his driving from here to Co Waterford for a job interview. I'm praying he gets the bleedin' job - and moves out.
He gets so arrogant - he said he needs to move out - has a friend in Dublin who wants him to move in - a woman I suspect. Probably another drinker - 'cos who else would put up with the nonsense.
I told him to head off - but he's still shagging here :haha:
He'll sober up and it'll be forgotten.
I think once he gets a job he'll hightail it out of here.
I've told Mr S I want him out that we are just enabling him to keep drinking ..... but he's scared. He prefers to know where he is. FFS !Last edited by satz123; April 25, 2018, 04:36 PM.

AND -- speaking of the bigger picture -- again I was putting myself in your position - and Joe.... now after what we've been through in the last 10 years -- my addiction - my plummet at the end - my stint in treatment - my recovery -- 'my my my' -- yes it IS all 'my' - because my addiction can rule this house again if I drink -- I KNOW I won't drink again - just as you do -- but does Mr S REALLY know that -- he couldn't -- so he's risking your recovery because he'd 'rather know where he is' --- SERIOUSLY????? Joe would have him gone in the blink of an eye rather than risk my recovery - no matter how much I may say there's no risk --- because with addicts there is ALWAYS a risk -- always... the big picture MUST be looked at here... it really must... - next time he's drunk and rambling about his 'friend in Dublin' -- record him on your phone and play it back when sober -- and tell him 'be gone' --- harsh? yup --- but you're my friend and I worry for you xxxxContentedly sober since 27/12/2011

Re: Join up!! Army against the grog !!! April 2018
We all do Satz. My heart goes out to you. He is your child and of course you don’t want to see him on the streets. However he is also an adult and sometimes we have to detach. Not easy, I know but just remember you have an army in your corner . As Molly said yesterday they are like boomerangs they keep coming back. Lots more peace when they are out of the nest imo
Off for a bit of retail therapy.

Re: Join up!! Army against the grog !!! April 2018
Morning,
I like the idea of making a video when he's in full flow, Molls. Show him when he's sober though. Let him move out and tell him to leave his keys.
I had no idea the terror that Mr JC had every night he came home thinking he would find me dead on the floor until after I got sober. How could I do that to a man who loves me whole heartedly.
I was the one who was going to leave if I didn't get the support at home.........I told the kids and Mr JC that sobriety was my first and foremost priority........it still is.
Sorry, just a few ramblings there. It could be worse, I could be filing.

Y'ya know - I was just thinking as I got up the morning that very thing. I need to protect my sobriety - does anyone, except here, give a shit about it.
Mr S really had it easy with me - I had decided to stop before he really realised the extent of it. I was VERY good at hiding from him. That is why he's reeling now at the deviousness, lies, destruction & shite talk that he is seeing.
I keep finding bottles etc - 'cos I know where to look ..... been there done that ......Last edited by satz123; April 26, 2018, 05:58 AM.
