Re: Join up!! Army against the grog !!! April 2018

    Evening..
Yep my first half marathon was today Satz, I did it! Beautiful route, Cliff walk in Donabate, cracking views - forget howth, with people tripping over each other and get over to do that walk, only very respectful dogs and kids over here, isnt that right Molls :hahaha: Then you have Newbridge, and Ardgillian has great trails.

Morning folks, been a busy boy I have. Honestly where did I get the time to drink every day? Baffles me that one....
Ethanol is a toxic chemical, why would I drink it?

Good morning all. Very true Tabs, the army is a great advertisement for all that you can achieve when al is out of the picture. Well done Mary, another wonderful achievement :goodjob:. Himself is running a half marathon today and IÂ’m going to support. IÂ’ll have walked the doggies for an hour before I go so wonÂ’t feel too lazy :happy2:

Howth sounds like our cliff walk. I have to go really early or am tripping over people. DonÂ’t know your part of the world at all Mary, might venture over as part of our alphabetical tour. We had an incident with a German shepherd in the woods a few weeks ago. Very offended she was to be told put on lead and kept under control! Ffs legally it should be muzzled, found out later said dog had bitten someone. I was worried about daughters dog getting in trouble with it, had I known that it would have been myself I was worried about! Getting up now so that I have leg of lamb in oven and the basis of a dinner ready for later.

Cake for our Mers, she needs the calories.

Morning to the rest of yis.
Glad to be back, Starty, or is that the daftest question to ask this century?

We had a new neighbour moved in about 20 years ago and she always had a labrador puppy and it seemed to us after a few months that the puppy would disappear and a new one would appear.......didn't like to be nosy so just thought it was a bit odd.........turned out she trained baby guidedogs in being in a home and socialising from 6 weeks to a year old. Me and another lass ran a Brownie pack and she'd just taken on a wee one called Jasmine.........so as part of Jasmine's socialising she came with her to Brownies for a few weeks and we enrolled her and she had a badge. If she could withstand a bunch of 7-10 years........she was well ready for the real world.

And this morning I'm off clutching my M&S voucher to buy a bathing costume last one's a bit dated.........as shown in the lovely picture from mine and Mr JC's honeymoon.

It could be worse, I could be filing.

                  Well done Maryooooo!
agreed Tabbers -- tho in my case I remember I used to want to cover my tracks so much that I was a right busy bee when drinking so no one could point to bad attendance at work or messy house or kids - so probably lazier these days!

Smashing walks round here alright - personally - 40 years of wandering Ardgillen the sheen has worn off it -- boring!!!! the beach walk from here to Drogheda with a few little rock climbs is fabulous - and often you wouldn't meet a sinner.. out round Donabate and Portrane is seriously pretty alright - Joe being from Howth he knows all the hidden trails over the head but still it is appallingly crowded - we never go up there except in the depths of winter or when the rhododendrons are out - when I worked there - jesus - it could be an hour and a half just getting in and out of it --

I think that's why I fancy living West Cork or Kerry - fabulous walks and an endless variation of them - now the trick is to get there before I'm too old to enjoy it!!!!
                  Morning everyone!

                      Morning Army brats !!
I'm afraid that fecker was right - a Husky is not a breed that needs lead and muzzle. Just to be 'in control' - whatever that is ????
They're all fur and lovely dogs in fairness - it's the way he just ran - but he WAS friendly.
We were not to know that and if it was a child they'd be knocked.
AND WE WERE ON A CLIFF !!!!

My sister SCREAMED and he was only looking at her :haha:

d'ya know - I thought the greater Dublin area ALL dogs were s'posed to be on leads -- and tbh I think they should be - I was reared with dogs but I'm still quite nervous of them - and also - well lots of them are sort of smelly and full of saliva and hair and stuff and I do take umbrage at them slathering on me... think it's part of my ocd - if I touched an animal or they touched me I'd have to wash my hands immediately - but then - as I always say -- that's just me!!!

Haven't had a bathing/swimming costume for years....... had to get one for aqua-aerobics. Do you think I'll need a swimming cap?
