Re: Join up!! Army against the grog !!! April 2018

    Evening,
First things first how's Joe and his foot?
Secondly, Mr. JC's just driven home in a blizzard.......tell me what date is it?
Thirdly feeling a tad better but soooooooo tired. Luckily got an appointment for next week at the doctors.

Watched the opening ceremony of the Commonwealth Games, sure I saw Tawny, Bridget and My Happy Place dancing with a surfboard. Think Mr G. was doing the lighting ........all good stuff.

That poor young man, he'll have thought he was invincible.........got me thinking of the lovely lad, Barney who died a few years back. 37 years old, brain the size of a planet and died because of the drink. Met his mum and sister and there were no words that could ever express how sorry I was. We just hugged.
It could be worse, I could be filing.

Evening Jacks -- think this has to be the worst and longest winter I ever remember - mind you - the last few days have perked up a bit - warmer anyway - awful shagging wet tho!
His foot op. went really well according to the consultant - the screws all fitted perfectly (apparently sometimes they don't -- right??!!) and the bone graft looks perfect so we shall see! So glad its done tho so we can start the 6 week countdown... it's almost a year since it happened ffs!!
Enjoying my free house no end - Chinese take out and the remote control all to myself -- easily pleased me!!!
Did you get the car fixed?

And realistically alcohol is a tiny part of life as a whole but we make it HUGE because of our addiction to it.
That is very true and I never thought of it like that really.
Thinking about it, it was only when I was able to stop obsessing about it, did I realise that alcohol is not very important to a lot of people. Even when people say how they cant wait to go home and have a glass of wine, for most, it means just that. A single glass.
But when I was drinking, I told myself that everyone was knocking back the bottles, same as me.

Funny, my aunt was telling me recently that a bunch of people in her town hired a bus from Cork to Belfast to get their cataracts done! said their was no queue and it was free, but they would be waiting way to long for the same op down here!
            Swings and roundabouts maybe!
Good to hear Joe is well. Seriously, never once to a doc??

                  Morning all!
I hope Joe, JC, RC and all who are ailing are feeling brighter today.
Been feeling a bit shite myself. Think combo of the weather, menopause and just feeling like I need some sort of change in my life. Not sure what yet but something.
Still AF and it must be about 90 odd days which I am pleased with. No desire to revert either.
Hope you all have a fab day x

                      Morning,
:welldone: on the 90 days, Starterooooo. Recommend highly black kohosh for the mentalpause.

Think we've got a bad case of melancholy.

Had to go get a prescription for my anti-madness tablets.

One day I will sit yous all down with a clipboard and explain the NHS in England as long as I can have one of those pointers with a light at the end......can't do Scotland and Wales as its slightly different. The average worker pays a quite a chunk of their wages in NI (National Insurance) for the privelage............we do have private medical care.........which can be paid through private health insurance to various companies but they still have to pay NI......a lot of surgeons/doctors just work one or two days a week privately. and thats just to cover school fees and many skiing holidays and the nanny.....I remember back when I first started work.......the dinosaurs had just left the planet and out of the whole whopping £7:00 a I earned aweek.........48p went to NI.

Funny you should mention the cataracts.........my Gran went to see a surgeon taking her daughter, my Aunt, about getting hers done. His nurse talked over her asking all the pertinent questions to my Aunt about Granny's health etc (she'd be about 93)........eventually Granny tugged the nurse's sleeve and said ..........You could ask me all those questions, I'm not deaf or daft.......I just can't see very well.

                              How is Joe?

Jacks that's one of the strains of flu that's going around. I had it for 2 weeks.
Headaches, and gastric upset. No appetite.
                                Extreme fatigue

Our nursing home is closed to visitors because of it.
