We pay something -- for something -- like health care -- this was public (free) care I'm talking about - but we do have private as well - that costs a fortune tho unless you have private health insurance - most people do but judging by Joe's care which is all free -there seems to be no need for it tbh..

We pay through the bleedin' nose Molls.
We pay 52% of our salaries in Income Tax, PRSI & USC and STILL have to pay the doctor 65euro or dentist when we visit.
We also pay private health insurance of 3k a year - cos we want to be treated quickly if we ever get sick and not wait 2 years - Jazus !!!

Of course if you DON'T work or have a medical card ( my previous boss had one and she was earning 100k a year ) it's all free !!! grrrrr

ok - well that works out about 25 euros a week (I think -- prolly loads more for others - I don't earn very much) - and my Laya private health care which I'm very close to giving up - it's 140 euros a month.. but that's choice.. and for the last year it hasn't been any use for Joe's treatment - it's all been free - Income Tax and USC --- well don't get me started on USC.... does ANYONE know what that's for???) - tbh I don't think the health service is all that bad at all... must try and find a pay-slip - I could be talking shite

Yo. Down saff about to meet the bro and his daughter once he gets home from work.

So, it’s saturday and uh... you’re all speaking about your taxes?!! Cripes.

Taxes aside, part of me canny wait until I’m 43.... cos I ought to have paid off all me student debt, which currently eats into about 20% of my earnings, add on taxes and pension payments, mortgage and rent, and I’m sometimes left with 2 peanuts, sour milk and a letter from my bank manager saying I have no funds :haha:

(Ok, it can be bad but not quite that bad!)

HOWDY DOODY Arsey!!! -- Sathurda???? NOPE -- deffo not Saturday! (did have a sneaky peek at the calendar!!)
Feel as rich as Croesus since Joe retired cos I have all his tax free allowances - so for the first time in my LIFE I don't mind talking or thinking about taxes!!!

Joe is fine - they sent him home with a suitcase full of drugs so guessing he's going to be talking shite for some time - but he's fine!! Doc was delighted with the x-rays this morning - he's almost excited that he'll have the full use of his foot back soon - he has really missed his walking etc..

Is that down south of Scotland or down south of the whole island??

Yep, defo Thursday and its the end of the tax year over here today..........wouldn't it be nice if they let us off paying tax for a year or so.

Molls, has Joe got a cage to go over his foot........not so it doesn't escape just in case the bedding hits it.
