Fantastic Starty - guilty of not reading back properly - delighted for you and deffo enough time to 'protect' - sometimes it's hard to be precious about a few days sober here or there - but no way would you want to break either of those clean periods - well that's the way I looked at it anyway - like a little challenge for myself - added interest to the boring days when the 'what's the point?' could rise to the surface.. lovely Starts - well done!!

I'm in work today - actually love going in these days.
Ol bitch receptionist is me pal now. Now that she couldn't get the better of my 'niceness' to everyone.
She's actually on the back foot now 'cos boss sees & hears what's happening from others - including visitors.

That's great news too - nasty people find it hard to deal with pleasantness - it's so foreign to them - I unfortunately usually fall into their trap - if they're nasty to me I sort of go silent or huffy back - so again -- well done you! and I really get the looking forward to work especially if there are worries at home - I imagine it was how Joe must have felt when we'd 4 young kids and he'd swanny off to work....

Got this fabulous dress for my birthday from my SIL.........Linen Blend Tunic Dress | M&S doesn't look much in the picture but when I put it on its stunning and of course being a short-arse it covers my chubby knees. A win win.

My lovely godson got engaged to his equally lovely girlfriend. He's the one that played in Demob Happy and tbh went off the rails for a good few years. He's back on track, playing solo and writing songs and making a living DJing (is that the right word).

The bruises are fading from when I did my spectacular fall last week but I'm in so much pain with my back whenMr JC went to bed last night and I just sat and cried. See the doc on Friday about the change in my anti-depressents so he can have a squizz at that as well.

I've had bad backs before but this is a new one on me.....never had one that made me cry with pain.

Haven't worked on a Tuesday for a while. There's sweet Fanny Adams goes on upstairs. Might get a shout if they need help when there's a function.......apparently, I'm quite good with the punters.

And just read about the death of another addict who was part of the services up here.......drink and drugs. Another one gone far too young. It kills....plain and simple.

Excellent point and agree.

Let's go back to the freezer.........is it one of the big standy up ones. The top shelf in ours is full of Mr JC's curry base sauce. He makes it in huge batches.

Only in the door - just in time to see Liverpool play football - zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz -

It's a chest one.. not a full size huge thingy - but big enough.. yup I'll be doing MrJC's sort of thing too - I love making good sauces and that's the hard part of making a dinner - so yeah - loads of wee tubs of different ones -- PROPERLY LABELLED!!!! Can't COUNT the number of times I've taken out a chicken curry to find it's mushroom sauce or something! Bought all the containers today in Homestore - so next it's the meat - probably Thurs morn - I'm off till 5pm on Thurs so will get loads done.. very excited!

How's the back?

Had a very hot bath and the back's just awful and manageable now instead of horrible and sob-worthy and I found the ibuprofen ointment. I'll be cured by the end of the week.
We've got the footie on the radio........bit noisy

Joe's sister rang him on Sunday night - luckily I was heading up the stairs to bed - but latherin heart - she's a crashing hypochondriac and moans incessantly................ AND she was drunk -- he had TWO HOURS of her complaining incoherently -- I realised how far he's come in the last few years that he didn't take the head off her:welldone: - mind you - don't think he'd listen to me -

Ha ha..........I never moan..........I just sigh tragically. If I'm lying flat .......to get up its a sort of roll 'til one foot is placed soundly on the ground.

Satz - I feel like Molls about negative ppl - they can bring me down or i seep in their poison and get angry/resentful/just negative. kinda hard to not - and always am in awe of those who smile in the face of such dour bastards. Reminds me of two phrases: smile in the face of adversity (or an adversary?!) and, wot President Reagan said in his speech to the nation hours after the Challenger accident, that those who died had 'that special spirit that says, "Give me a challenge and I'll meet it with joy."' Only heard that on the radio a couple of weeks back and it stuck for some reason.
