Jax I do hope you can get some relief for your back today.

Well nearly through a busy week. The boss wants us all to dress up as if we are going to wedding on Friday.:egad: Think I will pass on that.

However, I will be watching the event on Sat. Really looking forward to it actually.

An unusual thing happened Sunday........chatting with Jenny and the new BF it suddenly dawned on me that neither of them had their phones on them and I asked them why......I know Jenny had an awful habit of forever glancing at hers when you're in the midst of a natter.......seems to be since they both started teaching they've realised how dependent they had become on them after watching the pupils walking out of school watching 800 kids heads bent, hunched over their phones not talking to each other and they've realised how dire the situation has become. It seems to me that the new generations will be able to do everything one-handed and evolution will eventually grow a claw that will carry the phone.

I'll be watching the hats, Starty. Remember this one...........

Well done Jenny & BF - it's diabolical - they are trying to ban even bringing them to school.
They will all have 'Tech Neck' at 30
Those lines across the neck older people (me) get at 60 .........

Just had to do another presentation. Amazing how less stressed I was doing it. It has given me a lesson that getting out of my comfort zone is actually a good thing. Same with giving up drugs n booze. Puts us out of our comfort zone until it doesnt. Profound hun

:egad: Starts - never say 'giving up' - stopping or quitting is much more apt.
'Giving up' implies there is something good about alcohol , drugs, cigarettes that we need to give up under duress. There ain't ...... v v profund :haha:

The kids are banned from using there phones inside of their schools but the number of times they hear 'oops I forgot to turn it off' drives them mad.

I have now crocheted enough squares to make a bed cover.....admittedly a very, very small bed......but I'm rather chuffed with myself. Next week I'm going to crochet a replica of the royal wedding cake........as if.

Quick hello.. DON't get me started on the phones! I have phone free zones all over the house (upstairs, kitchen table etc) but they still keep coming up with very important reasons to be gawking at them.
Then of course I have to practice what I preach and find myself sneaking it into the loo or the closet to send a text! Ah well, there was a time Id be sneaking in there to knock back a quick drink, a text is very innocent :happy2:

Ahh... the phones, the phones... i'm as much a culprit as the next one... but I do hate the, almost innocent, 'addiction' i see in young kids - primary age - and their phones. But then who can blame them when you see their folks - and teachers (tho not in class!) - heads bowed to the wee screen. When i lost my phone in January I also lost, for a few days, my habit of reading it before bed... so since then I have self-imposed a ban on the phone in my bedroom... means I read more BOOKS. Much preferred.

Phones - I sent my cleaning lady an automatic text with about 20 kisses that is generally reserved for Mr S yesterday :egad:

Good morning all. Phones are a bit like everything else good in moderation. Young people do seem too addicted though. Use mine as calculator, alarm, google maps etc which is great.

Had the most amazing hike yesterday, tired but felt great after it. Busy day today, still have visitors and crochet class. Not missing that for anyone. One of the women in my class has just made the most amazing quilt. All squares, little fancier than the granny ones but same concept. It’s taken her about a year so keep going JC!
