Morning all. Feeling knackered this weekend. Not up to doing much at all. I have to remember to just rest when I feel this way. Previously I would reach for something to help me through.

Thanks for all the good wishes, we had a lovely day. Was midnight before they all left but that was grand
Kids had a ball.
Observation on drink.. most moderate, had their couple of glasses and then moved on to minerals, tea/coffee. A small few just kept going, Mr M included.. there was nothing remotely attractive about them by 11 (other than laughing hysterically at my jokes). Almost a scrap when the bouncy castle man came to collect 12 hours too early! And just annoying to have in the conversation generally. Mr M is totally hungover now, hahahaha :haha:

Mr JC's in a mood........he rarely gets in a mood so when he does it worries me that there's something on his mind that he won't tell me........and I'm usually right......... He's buggered off to his Ma & Pa's to cut their lawns.

Hi all,

Feeling better now. Been out with doggers, done some food shopping. While out with doggers, had a lovely chat with a neighbour who has been in AA for over 30 years. He inspires me for a number of reasons, he is 72, still working, has gone through lots of heartache and lost his wife a few years ago. He was talking about living soberly and how it is imperative that we change from within and had a chat about the steps. It was nothing I didnt know but it inspired me and made me very thankful to be following the right path again

That's a wow. We've got a guy like that at work,same age, about 35 years sober. Right old hippy and still is......... I bet he could tell a few stories. I call him my future husband

Ha ha re the tip It is amazing how just doing SOMETHING can snap us out of a bad mood.

Am sure Mr S will be relieved 😅. Send some of that sun this way, very windy and inclined to rain. Glad yesterday went well Mary. Always amazed at the people who can have one or two and then leave it. Nothing much planned for today but that’s o.k. Finishing a crochet jumper and it fits. Would have preferred it longer but learned a lot doing it. Started one last year and gave up, kept having to rip and just got frustrated with it.

Love meeting people like that Starty? Do you talk to him about your relationship with drink/drugs? You didnt go down the AA route either, did you?

He's fine now, he's had a trip to the tip, been fed, had an ice-pop and planted the courgettes..........now watching his Belgium cop show.............near enough Heaven for him.

Yes, he knows about my struggle with booze, not drugs though. No I didnt go to AA. I have always wanted to try it though. Just not plucked up the courage. I read Russel Brands book which is brilliant about the steps. I plan to go to AA or NA when I have more time eg reduce hours. Not sure yet when that will be

Weather is gorgeous here. Just been for a lovely long walk.

I used to be so resistant but it seems to have changed in the past 10/12 years or perhaps it was because I was so resistant and tbh arrogant back then I couldn't see the kindness. They're very acceptant of other paths these days as well.

Do you go to AA Jax? I just think that any constant reminder that there is a different way to live our lives is a good one. Its so easy to get caught up in the stress and negativity that being shown a different way would be helpful especially by people walking the walk

Yo. Quick wave in. Not much to report - just busy, as we all are...

Tho not a royalist, I'm not a republican either... and accidentally found myself watching some of the wedding. I ignore the pomp and poshness and just see 2 people in love getting hitched. Lovely. Stand by Me and the sermon added a bit of groovy pizzazz.

Trying to muster the mental energy to do some more work on me masters...

Do you go to AA Jax? I just think that any constant reminder that there is a different way to live our lives is a good one. Its so easy to get caught up in the stress and negativity that being shown a different way would be helpful especially by people walking the walk

I used to......and to be totally honest hated it. Thought everyone was big-headed and bogged down in the 12 steps and their whole world revolved round AA...........now watching them before, between and after meetings at work.........I was so wrong. Sure you get the odd one that's swallowed the Big Book whole but they're not the norm and if that's their way of getting sober its to be respected. Its something I'm thinking off. Because of the back haven't been in to work for a few weeks and I get the feeling all is not well there........just waiting on a phone call from one of the trustees to see wtf is going on...........I am thinking about going again. I'm feeling then need of human contact of other alkies.
