Morning.........have to admit I'm enjoying the light mornings. If the temperatures could just squeeze themselves into the teens I'd be very happy.:happy2:

I'm hoping this aerobic thing is more for ladies of a more mature age and not a load of yummy mummies trying to shift that extra ounce they gained when one of their babies were born.

Well when Jilly and I went (about 5 years ago) I was well in the middle range - loads of aul wans - some of them could barely lift their arms up and a good few young ones so yeah - bang in the middle and every bit as fit as the young ones too!! I reckon a lot of younger people are a bit lazy these days d'ya think? Even notice it at work - it's like everything is at our finger tips so if it takes a bit of effort - it's shocking - -

Agreed Molls ...... DD will drive her car right to the door of the Supermarket.
She goes running - but that I believe is 'contrived' exercise. ....... know what I mean ?
          I do iy myself ....
You are active in work Molls daily - that's what counts.
As the gym guy says - "you are here for an hour - it's what you do for the other 23 hours that counts too". :egad:
So I'm mostly active in my job now which I'm grateful for.

( says she sitting on her arse here ....... ) :haha:

It wasn't aqua-pilates.......it was aqua-aerobics for the older lady, those with new hips, new ankles, recovering from breast cancer, arthritis, lumbago even depression......it was fabulous. Had to tell the instructor my back thing and she just said to do what I could and if I wanted to get out don't fret........I did the whole 45 minutes........the women around me were so supportive and although I'm aching now.......I'll be there next week.

I will need proper socks as my feet slid all over and you don't need a hat. Oh and the music was very much to my liking all 60's sounds.

The S&H and his GF go to the gym at least times a week.........partly because he gets mates rates from his best friend who runs a gym.

Although I did have a massive craving for the watery chicken soup you used to able to get from the vending machine back in the day.............I didn't want anything isotonic.

100% agree - and believe you me I do plenty of sitting on my arse as well!!! but for instance - our store is 3 flights of stairs up - we probably need to access the store 20 times a day minimum - and myself and one other are the only ones who use the stairs - wouldn't DREAM of using the lift - wouldn't enter my head -- in fact the only time I will use the lift is when I've a trolley of stuff to move - it's lifestyle really - I'll run to the shop at lunchtime - probably only half a kilometre in total -- but I run that every day at least once... one of my colleagues gets her car out of the carpark to drive there................ and then complains of aches and pains... it's from sitting down

Sounds ok Jacks?! like having the young ones to gauge myself against tho.... would kill myself rather than let them see me slower than them -- went to an exercise class once with a friend - we were both in our 40's - when we turned up EVERYONE else was 20 max --- and no WAY were we going to be patronised -- we were star pupils!!! (ACHING star pupils in the privacy of our own homes after!!!)

So this is the birthday month in our family - Adam's the first one on Thurs - jeez he's 36 -- shocking!!!!

Awwwhh love the squirrel. Made I larf and larf

Great stuff on the aqua. I am jealous I would like time to do stuff like that. I am one step closer to requesting reduced hours. Had a girl in tears today because of the continual stress and feeling that life is nothing but. Talked to another guy who has sold up, moved to France and retired. a lot poorer than he used to be but happier. Money really doesnt buy happiness. I just need to convince Mr S of that now.

We have literally 1/3 of the money we had before Joe retired - it's not a bother - few small life changes - less shopping (Got used to that in a month) and sod all else- it's the fear of having less - like the fear of quitting drink - the reality is grand!!

I am thinking if I am home more I will have more time to look for bargains in food shopping so will make it cheaper

                            Yo.

Quick squizz in. And it's May already, like?!?! Jeez time flies and I'm filled with cliches.

Interesting hearing about the aerobics stuff JC - me maw began pilates not long back, she's a very spritely 72... tends to take things up late in life. Began the flute at 60. No such thing as too old.

Debating whether to join cycle 2 work scheme - got to do it by friday, spent the last week researching different bikes, how much it'd all cost... still no closer to a decision! Simply, though have a half decent bike, want something that will encourage me out cycling again. Thinking it would be good for me as only exercise i do is a lot of running. Not been out on the wheels for nearly a year. But is it worth £35 a month for 18 months?? Pros and cons, maybes aye, maybes no...

Job interview tomorrow - at school I already work in. Said it would be relaxed, not to worry about it the night before. So i've not. And it's only fixed term till June... to would mean though going full time there and leaving that other school (whose staff i will REALLY miss... but the management sucked, shafted me and the environment is simply, in my eyes, not conducive to calm teaching environments. Anyway, will hope to know by tomorrow night what's happening. As for August onwards, watch this space...

Other than that, not much to write home about. Feeling a bit... well, tbh, just a bit meh generally. But maybe it's a combo of things and a sense of unknownness... Lack of control!! :egad:

No - not anymore Starty - got rid of that a good while ago - so yes - that made it easier - but it's funny - I quite enjoy being a bit economical - when Joe retired first - my aim was to live for a year on just my salary - any money he had from the shop I didn't want to touch it - just to see if we COULD live on my (rather small) income - and we did - absolutely no bother - the waste of money that was going on when we both earned - just wasn't funny really - and we never had to get tight with things really - just to stop waste - we still had our holidays and pretty much anything we wanted to do - and there's no doubt when you don't drink or smoke - life is a lot cheaper - and it's not even the cost of the drink or cigarettes - it's the constant going into shops and buying other things as well - loads of days I go out now and I'd have forgotten to get any money out of the bank cos I don't need any..
